2Awesome place great training great location. These guys doing a fantastic job. Was in Newport for the weekend came here as a traveler from another GB. Got great tips for competition and good rolls all around. Special thanks to prof Saul and whole staff and students for being so welcoming. Definitely hit this place up if your in Newport.
I started jiu jitsu here as a means to get in shape and learn a new skill and it was initially a really great experience! I was welcomed with open arms and learned quite a bit as a baby white belt!
I decided to switch schools for a few reasons: 1) the price increase yet I’ve discovered the curriculum is not better than many other schools in the area 2) a high turnover rate among staff (I personally benefit from consistency among coaches) and 3) recent information that’s come to light about how employees are treated and this location’s business practices. Integrity is important to me.
I will always be grateful to Gracie Barra for starting my jiu jitsu journey but I no longer recommend the CDM location.
