Such a good jujitsu class for kids! My son learned confidence in himself that he was needing. They do anti bullying classes as well to really teach your kids how to stand up effectively to a bully which I found super cool and useful for him. Professor Tassia is amazing and does such a good job with the kids. Professor Kristof is also a great teacher. You can see their passion for the kids they teach.

As a woman who was new to California, I was nervous to try jiu jitsu, but I'm so grateful I came here. Professor's Tassia and Kristof are nothing short of amazing, and really make you feel like they know who you are, and you a part of a community. I've been taking Tassia's women classes twice a week for about a year, and it's honestly my favorite part of my week. Not only are all of the women in the gym incredibly supportive, but Tassia is an incredible coach who pushes you, recognizes what you do well/what you need to do to grow, and helps you do that. If you're a woman who wants to do jiu jitsu, I truly can't recommend this place enough.

World class training from world class professors. Kristoff and Tassia are incredible. Classes are great for beginners to experts and everyone is helpful. My daughter will start in the children classes as soon as she meets the age requirement. I wish I had something like this when I was growing up. If you are thinking of a place to start or to bring your kids, you can not find anywhere better. Definitely Recommend!

Coach Kristof is awesome. I started studying BJJ just 2 months ago and am hooked. He is a very good instructor: super clear, patient, and always friendly. Being in my fifties, I wasn’t sure I would be able to learn BJJ, but with such a skilled coach, it is doable! The facility is extremely clean too. Turns out the sessions are fantastic cardio exercise also. I highly recommend this school. Give it a try!

Loved my time training under Tassia! Hadn't I relocated, I'd still be training under her. The women's class I trained in; in addition to the beginners class, Tassia pushed me to challenge my inner critic, and encouraged me to press through any challenge I was facing! She has a humble soul with great enthusiasm for life and her students! She sees the best in everyone!

I have the absolute pleasure and privilege to train with Tassia and Kristof for some months now and I’m beyond blessed. I’ve personally traveled around the United States training with world class jiu jitsu practitioners and these two do not fall short of amazing! They have met every jiu jitsu need from being family friendly to being tuff and competitive for those who like to compete. They have perfected my current game and are still fine tuning it for my life time goal in jiu jitsu. I didn’t just gain a team with Gracie Barra Roseville I gained a family and a home. If there is a team in this area that can meet your jiu jitsu expectations it’s going to be with Tassia and Kristof at Gracie Barra Roseville. - Shelly S.

Great school with great instructors and most importantly a GREAT culture. My wife and I came in and were immediately put at ease upon meating Kristoff and Tassia. They are so laid back but also consummate professionals at the same time it's a great dynamic and it trickles down to their students. Which is really were this program shines in my opinion. Going into a gym can be intimidating for many reasons but none more so to me than concern for quality of training partners. This place completely abates that, everyone is so friendly and willing to work with anyone regardless of their level or skill. Three words would describe this program to me.
FUN, EXCITING, WELCOMING

Tássia is one of the best instructors in the world. First female black belt from legend Romulo Barral and multiple time champion herself. Lucky to have her teach BJJ. Her techniques have worked very well for me against larger/ stronger opponents.

Tassia is not just an amazing person but an amazing athlete. Her and Kristoff are great professors/coaches of jiu jitsu. If you've ever wanted to try out the sport these two people are the ones to try it out with.

A place for EVERYONE (regardless of differences) to grow, meet cool people, and build confidence. Do you get that at a regular gym? NO. I can not remember the last time I went to a gym and actually talked to people, exchanged numbers or IG info. From the minute you walk into Gracie Barra Roseville you recognize that you are in a safe place with no judgement.

I originally began my jujitsu journey on account of the fact that my Husband had developed a healthy obsession with it. He made it very clear that having jujitsu in our family’s life was sure to make things exponentially better. He constantly encouraged me to give it a try because he was confident I would fall in love the way he had. I was initially VERY nervous. I, like many people, played competitive sports in high school but stopped all of them following graduation. In the ten plus years since high school I have de-prioritized my own health and fitness. Going to my first class, willing get my butt kicked, and be reminded of how out of shape I had let myself get sounded like torture. I could not have been more WRONG!

Professora Tassia taught my first class. She was everything I could have hoped for in a teacher/coach. Calm, funny, open, accepting (of even all of my faults), and most importantly she made me feel welcomed. The kind of woman I hope both of my Daughters will become one day. Professora, if you are reading this, thank you. You can not know how scared I was that first day.

If anyone out there is on the fence about giving this sport or this location a try. I challenge you to do it. Just look at their schedule online, pick a day and time that works best and do it. Drive there, walk in, and at the bare minimum talk with someone and stay to watch a class. You will not regret it. In such an uncertain world, during these uncertain times, something as simple as a jujitsu class with Professora Tassia or Professor Kristof will most certainly change your life for the better. OSS.

Once in a lifetime you meet people so genuine, so in tune with what they do that they change your life for the best:

- Professora Tassia is the first female jujiteira to receive a black belt from the legend professor Romulo Barral. You don’t become a black belt in jiu-jitsu just because you have been training for a certain amount of time or won a few competitions. That’s not enough. In jiu-jitsu you have to be able to teach, not just techniques, but a way of life, a certain “je ne sais quoi. ” That’s what professora Tassia does. Sure, she has won major competitions. Sure, she has spent countless hours on the tatami perfecting her art. She will also be one of the softest-spoken, nicest all-around, most genuine person you will ever meet. She teaches my kids. She lets me train with her. She is the embodiment of what it means to be a professor.

- Coach Kristof is a fierce competitor and an extraordinary person. He has won countless jiu-jitsu tournaments in Europe and in America. A brown belt under Romulo Barral, he has countless hours of training under his (jiu-jitsu) belt. He is an amazing instructor. He has taught me and my kids so much.

Their facility is brand new and clean. There is ample parking in front. I highly recommend Gracie Barra Roseville. Not just for adults, but kids too; I have two little ones training. Not just for males but females too. My wife takes jiu-jitsu and she kicks my butt. Jiu-jitsu is for everyone. Gracie Barra is a family and Professora Tassia and Coach Kristof certainly will make you feel like theirs.

Tassia is an excellent Professor!
I trained with Tassia for over 7 years, starting as a white belt. Tassia rolls with everyone, belt levels doesn't matter. Whatever belt level I have been at, Tassia has new information to teach, and challenging training.
In the midst of my BJJ journey, I suffered a severe accident that left me with an above-knee amputation to my left leg. Once I was able to return to training, she helped me adapt and brainstorm techniques that will help me continue to be a challenging opponent to my able-bodied training partners.
Tassia is extremely gifted at breaking down techniques and teaching important details. You always know what to focus on in training and she can foresee common mistakes allowing you to train and implement techniques more effectively and successfully.
Tassia is an amazingly skilled and knowledgeable teacher that's wonderful to be around. She has a patient disposition and is easy to talk to. When I train with Tassia, I always feel that I am moving forward and learning.

Professor Tássia is a passionate, supportive, and talented jiujiteira, who fosters a successful and positive environment to train jiu jitsu. It's really special when you meet someone who is so into their craft- it motivates you to show up each day and put in the work. Tássia is warm, welcoming, and will be your biggest supporter on and off the mats. Also, her spider guard is FIRE!
