Gracie Jiu Jitsu Vista

Having tried another local Gracie Jiu-Jitsu gym where there was a significant lack of structure and safety, I quickly realized that there is a huge difference between the Certified Training Center (CTC) and the others. If it is not a CTC, you are taking a risk not only of getting injured but also of not learning at the same pace as you would at a CTC.

Also the kids class is spot on when it comes to teaching them how to be responsible Jiu-Jitsu students, build confidence, and above all, how to communicate clearly to a potential aggressor.

Locksley is phenomenal instructor as I'm sure all instructors that Gracie University produces. We're happy to have him and the CTC nearby.

As someone who went in with no experience I was terrified, but the people here immediately make you feel like family, and are constantly making sure you are comfortable. I highly recommend joining to anyone as you can gain SO much. The instructor, Locksley, is fantastic as he gives you all the encouragement and resources you need to set you up for success.

Be prepared for high pressure sales and constant messages when you’re hesitant to sign up for their program. I only took one class during my 10 day free trial, even though I would’ve liked to take more, because the constant push to make a sale was extremely off putting. Locksley tried fear mongering as well, in a last ditch attempt to convince me to sign up.

The studio itself also gets very hot because they don’t use ac so there’s also a risk of overheating while working out.

Started this class a couple days ago. I have to say it’s been amazing so far. What I like about this class is that you’re mostly working on technical things rather than mostly sparring. The people and the atmosphere there are great.

Gracie Vista is a grate, friendly and welcoming studio to keep improving your skills. Professor Locksley is an amazing highly skilled instructor.

If you are thinking about trying Jiu Jitsu, come to Gracie Jiu Jitsu Vista! They are so welcoming, gracious and have truly ignited a passion I wasn’t sure I had. I encourage any woman who is looking to learn a martial art for self defense or simply looking to gain confidence to start their journey here!

The class the instructor has to offer is a positive experience overall. He took his time to thoroughly explain the different techniques and moves. I like how he explained step by step and made sure to genuinely answer everyone's questions. He definitely provided a judgement free environment and made the class enjoyable.

Gracie Vista has exceeded my expectations by far. The staff is friendly, motivating and organized! The facility is clean and classes are punctual. I’ve been able to retain each lesson so much more than other programs. I think this has a lot to do with the instructors experience and passion for Jiu Jitsu! Instructor Locksley offers a great friendly community that is respectful and all eager to enhance themselves. The Coach's and instructors are all subject matter experts that are dedicated and committed in teaching excellence and mold students to emulate the same. If you want to be street ready and be able to defend yourself effectively Gracie Jiu-jitsu Vista is the place for you! Had a blast with my time and will always highly recommend this CTC.

Locksley is such a mindful, patient, and effective teacher. He goes out of his way to make sure everyone is not only surviving but thriving. Everyone is friendly and it’s nice to see other women joining all the time. Loving come to class 10/10 would recommend
