Gram's BBQ Restaurant & Catering reviews
17 : (We ordered brisket for a party at our house days before. Not only was it 45 min late and I was late to our grandma's party, it felt light. They gave us almost a pound less than we ordered and we ran out of meat at the party. Twice I tried to call and there was no manager on. When I finally got ahold of a manager, Mel, she acted as if it was my fault. No apology and she actually told me that I only had 1 week to make to make a complaint and not 2 weeks.
Kindness, owning the issue, and apologies go a long way with most customers. There are plenty of restaurants to eat at, don't bother with this one.
It was hot, fresh, everything had great flavor, it was clean, and staff was courteous.we will be back!
Gram's BBQ is an absolute gem for KBBQ lovers! The meats were incredibly juicy and flavorful, making every bite a delight. The Kalbi, in particular, was outstanding and a must-try—the tender and mouthwatering experience is unparalleled. Undoubtedly, Gram's BBQ is a meat-lover's paradise worth visiting again and again!
We’ve been coming here for years unfortunately I think this might’ve been our last time. They were out of three different items. We got the two person meal deal, took it back to our hotel room and they had given us only one of the two meats (the main part of the meal). I can deal with all of that, but bummer they did not answer their phone (when we tried to call before to order and then when we called three times after to tell them about the mistake the phone just rang and rang). The people in the place were nice though so there’s a positive!
Ambrosia is the BEST! CONSISTENT EXCELLENCE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE.
THE FOOD IS GREAT ALSO.
I have a friend who recently moved to Riverside and is still looking for good places to eat. I visited him recently and, after seeing good reviews, suggested we try Gram's. The food was terrific, 5 stars, the fried okra and fried green tomatoes alone were 4 stars, and the beef and baby back ribs and the bbq chicken were all delicious, I very much enjoyed the food, but there seemed to be an interesting policy when it came to drink refills. My friend and I both ordered iced tea and he was asked twice if he wanted a refill and got two free refills, but when I asked for a refill, I was told it was $1 and the person wasn't to friendly about telling me that. Interesting difference. Maybe my friend got free refills because he was cute.
I doubt I'll be back. While I liked the food, that difference in service did leave a bad taste in my mouth, also my friend didn't think the food was as good as other BBQ places he'd tried in Riverside.
The ribs had some meat on them and they were tasty but it was a very light lunch and the okra was not as tasty as I thought it would be. The staff was really nice though.
We went for Father's Day as soon as it opened up it was a line. It's really small inside not many seats, but they do have a few tables outside to sit. They looked really stressed as you can imagine but the long wait didn't bother me I understood. We were told an hour but it was only about 35 mins until we got our food. Spent $46.15 on a Rib Dinner, Turkey Burger and Cajun chicken sandwich. Food was really good except the mac and cheese. I never waste food but i just couldn't force myself to eat it anymore.
I had heard of Gram's but never visited. It was fantastic! Simple ordering and family style. I give it a 10. The food was amazing. I had the fish so next time it's the BBQ.
Food was good and staff was nice. Be aware that the sandwiches come with a side which is unable to be modified. We wanted to try the fries with bbq pork so we didn't end up finishing all the food. Overall was very good. We would return if looking for bbq downtown.
This place is going to have to move to a larger location. That would be the only complaint I could have. It is a very popular restaurant and deservedly so! I had the brisket sandwich and it was awesome! Service was on point and prices are reasonable. The restaurant is small with little space for thise waiting for take out orders.
Love the friendly service, affordable pricing and delicious food. Fish, BBQ, greens, oysters, etc etc love it all.
True rating is 4.5 / 5! Only a couple of misses we noted, and we sampled multiple items today. LOVED the amazing oysters, catfish, pork rib tips, pulled pork, brisket, & greens! The savory sauce truly compliments the quality meats used.the thin and perfectly seasoned seafood batter accents (does NOT hide) the top notch seafood. Those greens.heavenly! For us, the only misses (not up to par with the other champions, in our humble opinions) were the rather bland potato salad, the bit too sweet cole slaw, and the undercooked cornbread. We'll most DEFINITELY be back to dive into the rest of the menu (& get more oysters), as well as highly recommended to our family & friends.fantastic find
Ok so the brisket is ok but where i think they ruin it is they put all that sauce on it and don't give u a chance to taste the smoked flavor and has way to much fat.catfish is good with a nice crispy outside.potato salad is ok it tastes like a mixture of juan pollo and stater bros lol.mac N cheese is ok but nothing special.overall i would say I'm a lil disappointed.maybe going right before they close was a bad idea
This is another one of my favorite places to go to have lunch or dinner. The service is great, the quality of food is delicious, and it's right in the middle of downtown providing a great option to walk along the shops after having a meal. Some of the items that I recommend are corn bread, beef or pork ribs, hot links, and the Mac and Cheese. You can't go wrong. Here's another thumbs up to Gram's.
Food was bland. Sauce was brushed on. Sadly, Dickies bbq is better. Tables needed to be wiped. Stay away from this dump!
Best BBQ in Riverside! It was expensive, but it was worth it! I had brisket and hot links unlike Dickies barely any fat. Hot links were kind of mild but great flavor. The sweet potatoes just like homemade! Sweet tea was good.
