GrandMarc at University Village, Riverside CA

Grandmarc is by far the worst apartment I have ever had the displeasure of living in. The way this entire group operates business is such a scam. As someone who’s been a victim of robberies twice in this location I can tell you personally that security is an absolute joke. Not only were my cases not taken seriously but they took days to respond which didn’t allow me to work authorities in a timely manner. Aside from raccoons, skunks and stray cats, Grandmarc is also slow to respond to complaints. There is a large amount of homeless people and locals that are able to come into the property at anytime. They will take large portions from your deposit once you move out. They profit off of exploiting students. Integrity of the entire business is questionable.

I had the unfortunate experience of living at Grandmarc, and I can honestly say it was the worst apartment complex I've ever had the displeasure of residing in. From the moment I moved in, it was clear that the management and maintenance teams at Grandmarc had little regard for their tenants' well-being.
When I first received the keys to my unit, I was appalled at the condition it was in. It was absolutely filthy, with trash on the floor and surfaces that hadn't been cleaned since the last tenants left. It was evident that no effort had been made to prepare the apartment for a new resident. It's basic hygiene and common courtesy to provide a clean living space for incoming tenants, and Grandmarc failed miserably in this regard.
But the horrors didn't end there. When it was time for me to move out, I made sure to leave my apartment in better condition than I found it and I expected to receive my deposit back. To my shock, Grandmarc not only refused to return my entire deposit but also charged me for various maintenance issues that were clearly their responsibility to address, such as minor wear and tear that should have been expected after a tenant lived there for an extended period.
It's clear to me that they have no respect for their tenants' rights and are more interested in squeezing every last penny out of them, regardless of fairness or legality.
I would strongly advise anyone considering living here to stay away. There are countless better options out there with management teams that actually care about their tenants and maintain basic standards of cleanliness and fairness.

Insane scammers never got my security deposit back. I moved out July 30th but they sent me the final account statement Aug 10.taking them to small claims court now. Been a whole month since I moved out and they have been ignoring my emails or have blocked me. Gave me a very very dirty apartment at the start and charged for repairments and cleaning. They told me a whole incident happened in that exact room a year before. Constant maintenance service needed in the apartment and my bathroom sink mirror almost fell on me and could have killed me. Absolutely hated living there. Wish I had done more research beforehand. Constant noise from surrounding rooms. Had to complain multiple times. Gave me a really hard time moving to different places without any reasoning.

Upon moving in, several cleaning was needed. I rented a whole carpet cleaner. I got several bug bites. My windows did not even have mesh nets if I wanted to open them.

I got the wrong key on the first day of moving in. My gate key stopped working several times. My card key to enter the apartment stopped working when I went to throw the trash and the office is closed on Sundays so I got locked out.

Hi there! I would urge you to not step foot here ever. So unbelievably disorganized and dirty. Grandmarc is a huge scam and they charge you for nonsense when you clearly have pictures and written notice of damages given. If you don't want a headache, please avoid this "business" at all costs. Better off living at Motel 6.

Do not live at grandmarc! They will show you a really nice room setup example but I assure you the rooms do not look that way.the apartments are really old and run down and the elevator breaks down a lot.even though the rooms are furnished, the employees will not help exchange or fix any broken furniture.when I first moved in, there were lots of ants and the apartment in general was very dirty. I got huge bug bites for at least 2 weeks and even after the maintenance cleaned it there was no difference. The appliances are also old and came dirty. There was a lot of dust and chunks of dust in the laundry room that wasn’t cleaned when I moved in and now as I’m moving out they charged me for it. A friend had something stolen from their car and grandmarc did not even have security footage to help them report it to the police. The gates are also broken a lot and homeless people walk into apartment parking lots. Rent also increases like crazy every year. The gym is not well ventilated and the water purifier in there doesn’t work. I’ve never seen anyone use the tanning room and movie theater besides the workers. When I was apartment hunting, the best rooms were at Highlander at North Campus but the exterior is really run down. I hope this helps someone.

My last two years here have had ups and downs but overall I have had a nice time being a resident here. I have already renewed my lease for my third year at Grandmarc so I definitely recommend leasing here:)

You know the service is terrible when everyone brings up concerns in the reviews and all the staff does is deflect. Disgusting

By far the worst place I lived so far in Riverside. Office will do everything in their power to keep your deposit so get ready for a lot of angry phone calls where you have to fight for your own money! I know people are going to suggest this place on the UCR facebook housing but as someone that lived there id rather live anywhere else, its not even cheap.
