Great Eastern Restaurant reviews
15Great place, great service, amazing food, try the Custard Dumplings. Will make you slap yo momma, for not cooking them.
Average at best, but hits the spot when you’re in the mood for Dim Sum. Service was fast and attentive, but I was a bit let down by the flavors here. Ordered a bunch of items from the Dim Sum menu but nothing notable for me to highlight on this review. That being said, I’d still come back if someone wanted to try it.
While it’s a bit pricier but there definitely some hidden gem dishes, like their salt egg dusted dishes. I’m not normally a pumpkin fan but that pumpkin dish turned me into a huge fan
Food was great but when i got the bill they tried to add the gratuity on my bill automatically when I was a party of 3 I told him no thats for party of 6 or more and I said if it's less where is your sign he said ok then fine
We walked around China Town then looked for a place to eat. Great Eastern had virtually no customers at 5: 45 and the place next door was packed with people and a 30 minute wait, so we decided not to wait, Very bad choice. Our party of 4 ordered 6 or 7 different dishes and none of them were worth recommending. All dishes except the sweet/sour ribs were virtually tasteless. My wife and I met in Taipei and appreciate good Chinese food. Service was also not good, missing one item we ordered, even with few tables occupied.
Wonderful food.some of the best we have ever eaten. Service was impeccable. Seated immediately but do not let that daunt you.this is a hidden gem of China Town.
The food is good, but the service is very Awful, menu and order form is totally different, hard to order it.
Great dim sum spot: plenty of seating, delicious food. Protip for the unfamiliar: dim sum is better (and more fun) with a group!
Okay experience for me. I have had dim sum in many places around, casual and fancy. This was definitely overpriced, compared to upper class ones, for the okay quality.
We ordered a variety of dishes. From dim sum, fish maw soup, won ton mein, fried rice, lo mein and several entrees. All of it was excellent! We'll definitely go back.
Everything we ordered was great! The only reason that I dropped a star was the three unfulfilled requests for water. (The fourth finally delivered).
Dim Sum was great. The picture menu was very nice to have and the staff was helpful for any questions. One of the best dim sum places I've been to.
Nothing fancy or super expensive, but the most delicious Chinese food I’ve EVER had! President Obama ate there on a surprise visit and loved it. No stairs—single level. ENJOY!
Several years ago we visited this restaurant and the food was delicious. Unfortunately the food was not very good this time.
Good, fresh dim sum, tasty eggplant, great dumplings. Typical surly asian restaurant service, adequate decor. Come for the food, been around long time! Tried and true.
