Great Maple - Hillcrest reviews
15It should be more than 5 stars.but that's all there is to it.everything is delicious and the service is excellent.the portions are quite decent. Mmm taste.
The portions are large for the price, which is great for sharing. The savory dishes were great but the sweet dishes were just OK. On the downside, the syrup served is most definitely corn syrup and not maple syrup as advertised, and you will potentially deal with flies sitting outside.
I don't think you can ever go wrong with any great maple location, the eats are always good
Service and drinks were very slow but food and mimosa flight were amazing!
There are only two single stall restrooms for a very large restaurant so go before you go or be ready to wait in line.
Delicious food, fantastic service by Jasmine. Highly recommend the French toast log. I need to try the maple bacon donuts next time.
This place is great and the food was fabulous. I had the French toast with the bacon syrup. Fan-tas-tic! And, the fried portobello mushrooms were simply amazing! It was all so good, I had to go back one more time before I went to the airport to head back to New jersey. This place was truly a find. I strongly recommend it to everyone. If I had a chance I'd go back and get that ribeye hash dish I don't know if I'm explaining that correctly but it looked amazing too. The portions are very large, so if you do get the French toast share it with someone. I will certainly be back there again. Check the pictures I've attached
Definitely coming back again! Me and my friends came here from Washington DC for vacation and were not disappointed! Here are the top 5 things you should know:
1. Saturday brunch was PACKED and a 45 minute wait, but because I had a reservation we were immediately seated!
2. Parking is tight, but not impossible!
3. It seems that many people know to order "The Pigs in a blanket" and "French Toast Logs" for the table. The portions are huge
4. California Chorizo Scramble Melt was crazy good and the potatoes seasoned to perfection!
5. The Blueberry and plain Silver Dollar Pancakes were amazing!
The service was amazing and as picky as I can be, I had not a single complaint! I really want to go back to San Diego just for this brunch experience again!
I ate in their outdoors. The flies were IMPOSSIBLE! I was bothered that they didn't warn us, apologize, nor even recognize that the flies were such a problem!
Cool and comforting atmosphere, reminds me of a 70s Cafe. Friendly staff, never let my coffee go below half a cup. Food came out quick but was still prepared well. Lots of flavor. Not over bearing on seasoning or spices. Topped with brown sugars and granola clumps, this blueberry crumbs pancake was out of the world delicious. So flavorful you don't need the butter at all. Hardwood amoked bacon scramble melt was a good mix of eggs and generous bacon. The guacamole on top of the eggs and bacon was a good cherry on top. I was really contemplating on getting the French toast maple log, but when I looked over it was probably a size for a family of 4 so I decided not to. Come on a weekday to avoid crowds and long line. Don't feel like you need to finish everything. Grab a box! They have paper to-go boxes. Super environmentally conscious
One of the worst brunches I’ve had. The food is very flavorless, seems they don’t even add salt. Atmosphere is okay. Not worth it.
Delicious breakfast and coffee is excellent. We were seated promptly since we had a reservation. Highly recommend Great Maple.they have a parking too.
Great place for big flavors from big food. We started with a bag of their Beignets that they shake at the table, yummy. All of our breakfasts were cooked perfectly and were delicious. The servings are large so share with a friend.
Came here a while ago never been to California so this was a shot in the book first off which waitress was an amazing person talked to us about fun stuff was an overall great person next that hit me was coming from Utah to California to see $16 for French toast and $10 for maple doughnuts I was extremely surprised and we decided to get one of both and share it with the wife not thinking it was gonna be big oh my lord when it came out I about had a stroke seeing how big and amazing it looked first bites made me rethink my life’s decisions I couldn’t believe someone someplace could make such a masterpiece but here I am it was the first time I ever had to take French toast and a doughnut to go would I ever come here again we’ll duh the only complaint I do have is that I couldn’t get the French toast recipe: (I’ve been trying to master it ever since but overall if you got a hang over and trying to get it cured in a matter of seconds boom this is the krusty krab of the land
Very rich and original dishes.
TIP. If you are one of those who eat little, it is better to share since everything is very big.
This place is a must try! My wife found this spot from a neighbor and we checked it out today. The parking lot is kind of small but you may get lucky. The server Jasmine, highly recommended. She was friendly, very happy, and told us about to most popular dishes. Everything looked great! I got the pigs in the blanket and the Mrs.got the french toast. The portions are huge but the food was off the chain! Have to go back in a few weeks once I wake up from the food coma lol. Just a great place to eat!
