Green Door Cafe reviews
15Visited La Jolla and this place is a MUST if you are vegan or gluten free or want to taste food that is healthy and amazingly delicious! The cashew cheese is yummy, booch on draft is a nice gluten free options, awesome happy hour and the staff and chef are great people. We visited La Jolla for 6 days and went here 3x! (Would've went more but they are closed Monday and Tuesday) It's THAT good
So yummy and great service! I really like this place and wish I was closer to it. I had a really great meal while visiting the area and would definitely come back
Super underrated vegan restaurant with AMAZING food. I was originally going to get some food from Trilogy, right nextdoor, but happened to read the menu out front on my way there an decided to try Green Door instead. Best decision ever!
I got the Bombay bomb burger with a side caesar salad. Hands down the best vegan burger I've had and the home fries are to die for, they are covered with herby goodness! The caesar was fresh, perfectly dressed, and had such a great creamy flavor. To end it all, I got the ultimate carrot cake for dessert, it was moist and flavorful but not too heavy. My partner and I split everything and it came out to a little less than $40 after tip.
It was totally empty when I ate there (~3: 30 on a Wednesday) which made me kind of sad because it was the best food. And such a cute little court yard plus and indoor space to in, you order at the counter and get to choose where you sit. I will definitely be back the next time I'm hankering for a nice vegan meal out, I have to try the lasagna!
Always visit vegan places while traveling. Loved the outdoor dining area. Food was simple but deliciously vegan. Glad to visit, but not a place I would plan on returning to.
Liked a lot being a pure vegetarian. Portion sizes are slightly smaller compared to the usual US scene. Food was delicious
Outstanding.
Offering breakfast and lunch at the same time. Food is awesome. Try the Red Velvet Pancakes and the Cuban Reuben.
A convenient location on one of the few flat streets in town. Easy walking for a few blocks in either direction.
So incredibly disappointing! Waited 1h 45 to be served with very few patrons in the restaurant. Food was terrible, bread looked like store bought sandwich bread, soup was bland, salad was mushy. I regret choosing this restaurant and putting my family through that unnecessary wait. Will never eat there again.
Do yourself a big favor. Eat here ASAP.
Martin is a great chef, genius, vegan and GF local produce and absolutely stunning food NOT to mention he is totally environmentally friendly. Prices are amazing for the quality and care that goes into his food.
The place is cute and has natural lights and plants around.
This is a one of a kind restaurant experience.
Sat right away, not many other customers. Ordered a burrito, but it took about 40 minutes to prepare and was very small.
Green Door Cafe is such a vibe! It’s an alley in the wall cafe with tons of greenery and cute vibes to match.
We tried the French toast and a flatbread. The French toast (while small) was absolutely packed with flavor! I highly recommend giving it a try! On the other hand, the flatbread wasn’t for me. Next time I’ll definitely try something else — there’s so many vegan options to choose from!
Stopped by on Easter for a fast lunch. Good service and great vegan food. We were entertained by a guitarist playing some sweet tunes
HIDDEN GEM OF SAN DIEGO! Buddha bowl plus tempeh is out of this world.cannot wait to come again
Cosy dining experience with a great vegan menu, definitely a place we'd come back to. Warm and friendly staff. We had Bombay bomb burger, the penne and chocolate cake all of which were good. Getting a parking spot Sunday evening was not difficult.
Honestly, we loved the atmosphere and the service more than the food. Tucked in a small courtyard, this cozy place is enhanced with planter pots, and relaxing live guitar tunes. Portion sizes are just right, no food waste or doggy bags. The service lady accommodated our little late request even though it was our fault. Overall, a lovely place to have your breakfast or lunch, compared to other overcrowded places.
The food here is SOOOO GOOD!
I got take out this week and was very impressed. The sambusas were the best samosas I’ve ever had. Bombay burger was great. Tacos were good but very spicy. Salads were very good.
Overall I am impressed. We will be back. This place is a hidden gem in La Jolla for sure!
