Green River Golf Club reviews
18 Workers there are great as always and have a sense of humor.
I was here about 2 months ago and course was looking better after heavy rainfall the lies are so much better on the fairways also the greens are looking really good too! Bunkers are still in good condtion with the improved sand! Great improvements so far since the start of the year tee boxes are up to standard just only thing is the pace of play expect to play a 5 1/2 hour to 6 hour rounds depending on time and day I would suggest beginning on the week early morning instead for fast play
Some parts of the back nine was fairly maintained compared to front nine. Course needs alot of updating, thought I was on the back roads in a 4x4.
Fairways are in horrible shape. Greens are in horrible shape. Multiple holes didn’t even have a proper green there was just a flag with a circle drawn in paint around it. Beverage service on the course was non existent. Bummer that this course has taken a turn for the worse. We will not be back.
Pace of play was beyond ridiculous - took over 5 hours to play 12 holes on 7/10/22 - 1st green was unplayable - rest of the course that I played was ok - had to call it a day after hole 12 due to how slow everything was moving
This is an enjoyable course with some steep elevation changes coming and going from the clubhouse on a hill. Number one green and number four greens were under renovation recently, with temporary holes cut in the fairway. And it looks like there is a project going to refill the bunkers with clean white sand. Nice upgrades both.
Good luck putting the 1st hole.
Huge bald spots everywhere!
Laughable to say the least
Good course condition and challenging greens except a couple of them really need renovation. Playing pace was slow as people trying to find the lost balls due to large hazard areas. But overall it's a good deal for $65 on the weekend.
Not a bad course to play at - easily got tee time, played early. Need some improvements with facility and to give them some credit, they’re currently rebuilding holes and saw the bunkers will be filled with powdered sand. This should be a better course in a few months.
Nice place to golf if you like trains, and lots of rabbits, squirrels, and the occasional coyote. I guess what I an saying is it's an awesome place to golf and the employees are all very nice and I'm nowledgeable.
Greens & sand traps need a lot of help/work! Leaves everywhere too… nice employees though.
Wow. I'm glad they don't have an option of giving 0 stars, because I'm sure there'd be a lot. I honestly would probably give it 1 star if I could, and that star would go straight to the starter, only pleasant experience from this course. He was a very nice old man who deserves to be starting at a much nicer course. Awful awful awful condition. Looks like a rundown course in Africa that got forgotten about for a few months. Overgrown grass everywhere, and where there isn't overgrown grass, there's dirt. Greens were terrible and most putts were affected. The tee boxes were longer than most rough on courses around California.just an awful experience. Very backed up, with guys taking 20-30 minutes on some holes hitting it all over. Ridiculous, but I'm glad I got to experience why this place is only $60 on primetime on Saturdays. Will never be back here. Save your money and go the the driving range before you go here, you will have more fun at the range.
I remember this course being a lot greener back on the 80's and 90’s. The front nine is possibly the bumpiest terrain of any course in Southern California. It feels like the cart is going to completely fall apart as you're driving it, picture a scene in a cartoon.
Pretty disappointed this time. Haven't golfed here in over 5 years but this time was bad. Greens were garbage, the fairways we're super rough and dry, pace of play was pretty bad (3 group back up at the 14th). Staff was great but looks like the groundskeeper needs to step it up.
Fairways are in horrible shape. You can’t even drive down the middle of the fairway without feeling like you are off-roading! The greens are decent at best and the tee boxes are very uneven and super patchy! Don’t waste your money here you will be very disappointed
The course is gorgeous, but unfortunately our experience was plagued by poor circumstances. Their Carts were having a battery recall, which meant we had to walk the course (resulting in a much longer game time).
Oh well, my calves needed a workout anyway, and they are just trying to make sure their customers didnt literally explode. They only had 15 or so push carts, so those were out of the question too.
The real kicker was that they let a group of literal children (around 8 years old) play ahead of us despite several of the holes being 400+ yards, and having the field marshal chastise us when we calmly requested to skip ahead of them. More of a problem with the kids' parents, but there should really be an age gate on these courses. 14+ or so would really alleviate frustration.
The fairway of front nine is not good to play. The green is not bad. Cart path is damaged a lot.
Seven golf carts stacked up on the first tee not including our own. Finally got out over 30 mins after our tee time only because we said we would go start on hole 13 and come back around for the first 12. The round still took over five hours! Fairways and greens in bad condition. This was their second chance after shutting down nine holes due to the railroad construction and I have no plans of giving this place another chance. Not worth the price when there's plenty of other courses around in much better condition for similar cost.
View 5 stars, customer service 5 stars, Fairways 3 stars, green 4 stars, pace of play 2 stars. Beautiful view all around.
