Green Valley Campground reviews
17Amazing campsites. Rangers are beyond friendly. Our host Cathy was so incredibly helpful. This is going to be a spot we go to for a long time
We loved the location and place. Very quite and great escape to the nature.
If you go be prepared to avoid the flies
We had an awesome time! The campground is just a short hike to the falls and a short drive to the lake. I had absolutely no cell service (TMobile) up there, but service was fine at the lake. We had campsite #35. There were some pretty great campsites with some cool rocks. Campsite #52 looked especially awesome.
Beautiful, spacious campground, helpful staff, clean restrooms with flush toilets and showers. No hookups.
Love this campground! Sites are very spacious, clean restrooms with showers. A seasonal waterfall with water holes to dip in.
We stayed at the over priced group horse camp. The restrooms, showers, and corrals are very nice. The facilities are not serviced by the park staff. Tons of outstanding horseback riding trails. Be very cautious with your pets, the coyotes are plentiful and not bashful. This is a picture of the deer on the hill tree.
Great! Except Host was not on site and it made us scramble to get another space which? But best to come when there is water
This place is amazing! My family comes to enjoy the small trail that takes you right into the water creek. Friendly staff, and clean amenities.
August 2021.
I went to Green Valley for the second time this year. There was a lot of shade on the site and it wasn't too hot in the shade.
I wore a hoody at night but it was so cold. We enjoyed campfire and saw the most beautiful stars. Unfortunately there was no water in the river.
This campground has big spaces for tent camping. Each area has a picnic table and fire pit. There are tons of squirrels and birds to watch and feed too!
Great shaded campground with plenty of space between sites. Awesome fun waterfall with small wading pools and some rock sides accessible via a few minutes hike. Brr, cold water though! Good hiking nearby and lots of interesting flora and fauna.
Great place, camping spaces distanced for privacy. One section has new bathrooms and showers besides the existing ones through the camp ground
Clean place. Most sites seem to have sufficient privacy from the adjacent sites. As others have mentioned, most sites are sloped so don't expect a flat spot for your tent. The swimming hole is a short walk from the camp ground and is a great way to cool off in the summer. Would have given it 5 stars, but the meat bees would swarm when we cooked so we had to eat in our tent.
Summary: it's an adequately maintained SD-local camping area. It's great if you want a quick and easy jaunt outdoors and have minimal requirements.
It lives up to expectations. You're close to San Diego, and it's set up as a day use facility or a one- to multi-day campground. It gets cell service (at&t) and it's relatively clean.flush toilets that are well-maintained.campsites are adequate with limited shade, decent firepits and trash and restrooms in conveniant locations (I think a 100 yard walk is more than conveniant).
Certain campsites have relatively new wood-frame shade-providing structures over the picnic tables. There are horse trails and a waterfall scenic trail that I cannot comment on.
We just camped here for the first time. We've camped at a few other parks county parks and this was our first experience with a state park. It's certainly a beautiful place to go but I'm not sure I'd go back. There was a burn ban (not their fault totally know) but they said we should have received an e-mail letting us know of that ahead of time, we did not neither did the other couple we were camping with so they ended up buying a propane grill for the weekend. The station isn't manned all day/night so both nights we had issues with noise and couldn't get ahold of anyone. It's just a super restrictive campsite so make sure you're reading and paying attention to all the rules and posted signs. ALSO dogs are not allowed on the trails.
Nice campground with no amenities.here and there water is available with no stunning views.low trees and some pine trees. Policy is 8 people and 3 cars but sites are small so i don't know how to feet that. 10 min walk brings you to beautiful creek with pools.afternoon can be really crowded. $30 per night with no hookups at least water too much in my personal opinion
