Groveland Hotel reviews
11Old, faucet in the bathroom for hot water didn't work. Could not adjust heat or cool air in room. No ice bucket in room, ice machine broken had to ask for ice in office. We only stayed out of desperation, drove all day in Yosemite. Also paid top dollar bad news. Only stay if your desperate.
First my review of the hotel: Our room was spacious and very clean, and our bed very comfortable. We had the Deluxe King#6 which faced the street. It had large bay windows, but we had to keep them closed for privacy. I would suggest you ask for a room facing the back. That said, on a Saturday night you will not find a quiet room, as there is live music at the saloon next door. We had a couple of issues on arrival that were quickly taken care of. I forgot to let them know the Keurig in our room did not work.
Review of the restaurant: The main reason to eat here is the wonderful outdoor garden and live music on Saturday nights. My husband enjoyed his prime rib sliders. I had the artisan salad with salmon. I got a large well prepared piece of salmon. The dressing was quite good, but it was not thinned out enough so it clung unevenly to the greens. The greens themselves seemed to have not been refrigerated and were a bit wilted. A little work on this salad would make it great. The samosa and egg roll appetizers were not that great. They have a good selection of beers on draft, and a decent wine selection, though they were out of the first 2 sparkling wines we ordered. Regarding service, it was terrible! I don’t fault the hardworking employees, but fault their bosses for obviously providing zero training, and not enough staffing. It appeared they had little knowledge about the beer and wines or food being served. Luckily, we were there to relax and enjoy the vibe, so the slow service did not bother us. We just got up and got our own iced water! We arrived at 6: 30 and our order was taken promptly, though our food took awhile. We were enjoying our drinks and the music, so that was OK. Other folks who arrived later were not even getting menus to look at. It was pretty bad. I think waitstaff and kitchen were overwhelmed. If you just want to chill come here by 6: 30 and get your drink order in and just relax!
This was a great stay for 2 nights. It was close to yosemite park and the staff was great to work with.
Great location and decent property but terrible service and maintenance. There was a power cut in the town when we stayed at this hotel but the hotel had no generator or any other alternate source of power. For the price they charge for one night this is the least thing one would expect.
We had to leave at 10 PM and drive back to the Bay area because of no power in the hotel and we were promised that the owner would call and provide a refund. Even after multiple follow ups over the email, no one has reached out yet.
Great potential because of the location but seems to be a wasted opportunity the way it is maintained.
Great place stay and visit Yosemite park. We enjoyed our visit. Great outdoor spaced to relax at night as well.
Super cute place, the hotel service was great and better than what I expected. The rooms were cute and clean, but the road noise at 4am.oof. Next time I stay will be away from the road
Nice hotel with very nice and helpful staff.
There is a restaurant with a bar on site. Large selection of beers and spirits.
Free coffee is available at the reception.
The hotel has a common balcony overlooking the street.
Free parking is available at the back of the hotel.
There is a very atmospheric bar with a jukebox nearby.
I recommend!
Just no. That's by far not what you expect in this price class. The hotel is old and wants to be authentic - OK but what does this disgusting fridge or fan has to do with that?
There is not breakfast and no room service. The restaurant has a nice outdoor area but the service is horrible.
The price of this hotel is just driven by the proximity to Yosemite Park, not by value.
Just sleep 15 minutes further away from the park to have much better options.
I loved my stay at the Groveland Hotel. The location is great, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Highly recommend it.
This is a nice hotel and the room was clean. Unfortunately the restaurant and bar had been closed before we arrived so the inviting looking beer garden was not open.
We rented the house that was listed as part of the hotel for Thanksgiving. We were excited to be with family and see the area. The house was not as listed- the master bedroom had a missing TV (we were told they didn’t know what happened and didn’t try to rectify the issue), dishes were chipped, the dryer had both towels and rags mixed together, the door inside did not lock, the lights over the dining room flickered the entire time, it was dark and dreary. The entire house was not as listed. There were other things that were not right which are too many to list. When we spoke to the hotel staff there was absolutely no resolutions or desire to help with our situation. It was unfortunately an awful place to stay.
