Grover Hot Springs State Park reviews
21Beautiful grounds, setting and ambiance! The people were so nice! We just drove through didn't go in hot springs
It's a bit of a trek to get there but it's totally worth it! The campsites are spacious and majority have a great spaces for tent and table set-up as well as many trees to help keep things shaded in the hot summer months. The facilities are well maintained, the staff is friendly and helpful. Also there's new infrastructure such as the boardwalk through the meadow and there's not many places that can boast access to a natural hot spring!
5 stars for amazing area and great camping! Waterfall hike is pretty too. 5 stars for kind staff. 5 stars for a cute town coffee shop and small Mt town feel. Been coming here most wkends for the past several months to embrace the views, sounds and solitude. The rating for 2 stars is for why hot springs are at 97-99 degrees on the weekends at 10am upon opening. Ive heard numerous excuses that don't seem completely logical as a seasoned soaker. Ive sat in the 98-99 degree warm springs on multiple other wkends and waited an hour to 2 hours for the temps to be a "hot spring" at 100-101. Ive chatted with others who are dissatified. Are there issues with the holding tanks that fill the pool? Is the hot spring turning into a warm spring? Is staff showing up consistently late on wkends to meet their standard 102-104 temps expectation? An explanation of why would be kind and professional.
Hot pool is wonderful, along with the view from one end. But the dressing rooms are tiny, no lockers (cubbies by the pool), only one shower & one bathroom, gets crazy crowded!
Wonderful weather for a 5 mile hike and then jump into the hot springs pools for some therapeutic soaking
Grover hot springs is such a treat for my family! We love being able to come here with or without our kids. At only $10 per adult and $5 for children it is a relatively inexpensive way to spend a few hours soaking. Keep in mind they are closed on Wednesdays. I always call ahead (just in case). Very clean bathrooms!
We really enjoyed our spring hike through the semi snow covered trails. We got a bit lost at first but made our way to the falls, and back much quicker. Carried a small dog on the return trip - so the terrain wasn’t too challenging even with snow cover.
Good place for natural mineral hot springs but nothing else here. Would have been nice if there was food and drinks here since you are literally in the middle of nowhere. Other than that, the hot mineral springs looked like a swimming pool with darker water. They also had a chlorinated pool that was supposed to be colder but wasn't that much. Good views of the mountains in the background though.
Great place for higking, dog friendly. Amazing hot spring with minerals n one more pool with cold water.
Amazing place to go to alone or with a company. Air is really clean and the water is really hot. They have well taken care of bathrooms there and a cold pool for you to jump into if you get too hot. From my experience the water there really does help and speed up the healing process if you go there 2-3 times. Definitely worth a visit.
The hot springs were amazing relaxing and the view is breathtaking. The camping sites looked incredible too!
We love Hot spring and always going to relaxed and have a good time with family, but today was closed for maintenance so we was not able to get in the water, but we still have picnic in the park so we jave fun anyway.
This place has the potential to be a really great destination, but they only let so many people in at a time depending on how many lifeguards there are on duty and they are rarely fully staffed, so there always seems to be a line. There are no re-entry privileges and no food allowed inside, so if you leave to grab lunch, you have to wait in line again.
It was nice, sometimes there is a wait to get in. Just a bunch of people in the hot mineral spring pool and then there is a regular pool. Beware of bats in toilette seat cover dispensers lol
The park itself is great, full of hiking, not many restrictions for dogs (of course, you need to keep your dog on leash, which is not a big deal). The trails could use some better labeling/directions, it's not always obvious what is a trail and what isn't.
The hot springs were disappointing, insane lines for nothing special. Those facilities are definitely lacking.
The campgrounds are nice and spacious. Ok-ish bathrooms, great views and lots of trees
To be fair, I had a panic attack at the plague warning and was scared all weekend, so it was hell, but I guess it could be nice. But 1 warning: don't expect to sleep with all the traffic.
Beautiful camp grounds and picnic areas. The hot springs and the adjoining pool are available for day use. Use the California State Parks website for reservations.
Hot springs were closed with no warning. Apparently the lifeguard was sick: (. We even called ahead to confirm but got an uninformative mailbox. Bummer - we drove a while to get here. 1 star added because it's still so beautiful and the gate ranger was lovely to deal with. Better in winter apparently. But a fan of the fence surrounding the pool though.
A really great location, but come early or plan to wait in line at long time. We got in just in time but they limit admission so it when we were leaving there was a long line. Great facility, free showers, a good crowd, and nice hot and normal pools.
We went there for 1 night and our experience was amazing considering this was our first camping trip. Hot springs and swimming pool is half a mile from campgrounds. There are three hiking trails including a waterfall one. Staff was friendly, restrooms were clean (to our surprise!) and they also drinking water.
