Guadalupe River Park reviews
31This used to be a good trail to go on a run. It will take you past the airport and 8 miles into north SJ. Unfortunately, it just doesn't feel that safe to go alone any more.
Love coming here for a jog with my dog.although there are quite a few homeless campers throughout the park, all are very polite and friendly from my experience.
Well, this a hard rating for me to post. I started visiting this park because of it being a park with river walk. As a winding area of paths and paved walk/bike paths, it is a perfect place to go for a walk or ride or just to take a break from the weeks schedule. It has a secondary purpose that i was not really aware of until i met and spoke with a few "park attendees". I learned that it was also a place for some of the homeless population that had come to be here. Now i visit and have stayed over night a few times and seem to have made some acquaintances that have formed a bit of a family and i have been greeted and treated with mutual respect and kindness every time ive been there.
Wonderful location for Family Fun! I recommend you please pay attention to your surroundings for safety!
This place is a dump, over run with homeless people and people using drugs, no longer a safe place to enjoy a walk. The city of San Jose has lost control over the area
Spacios area to walk or run along. There is a park for kids. Not so nice views, some times but it is good to find this in San José metropolitan area. Not easy to access on foot from downtown.
Directly across the street from the SAP center. Alot of homeless people from the shelters smoking pot and meth!
I thought this is where they filmed Fast and the Furious when they look out at the city. Sadly I was mistaken. But it's still nice!
Nice park.not enough picnic tables for families or restrooms that aren't occupied by two men having sex
I run here once a week. Calling it a park suggests that it is maintained-it's more of a green space. I would not take my kids here because of the human waste and drug use, but it has a fine bike path/jogging trail.
Nice and safe park. You can see planes landing to SJC. Swings and slides were for all ages. Loved it!
This is a great place to bring the family or your pet; though it is not fenced so make sure your pet is trained before letting them off leash. Tons of areas to speed out, have picnics, or play sports.
The nature center in the park was nice, but some of the displays were broken. The park itself was full of trash, and obviously the overgrown areas used as camping spots for homeless people. I don't want them to be kicked out! It's a sad reflection of the poverty and homelessness crisis in California, where there is so much wealth and yet so many without enough to get by.
The guadalupe river park is a great walking trail. Plenty of places to stop and rest, look at the river, and sit in the grass. Easy access from several streets and the light rail. Knocking down to four stars did to many of the trails being somewhat unkempt.
Worth a visit. Park needs community support. Homeless people can make it uncomfortable at times, but this park is a gem!
A true gem in the middle of the city! Children's playground good to kid age 4 to 10 IMHO. Well set up so with one entrance so that kids can run free without parents worrying.
Great outdoors space to view the Fourth of July fireworks show. It does get very full, so allow plenty of time to find a spot. The fireworks begin around 9: 30 and we arrived around 7 and it was pretty full by then already. There is a live band for entertainment and there are some vendors selling treats around the vicinity. You absolutely need a blanket or chairs to make yourself comfortable and be prepared to share a bit of your personal space. Great atmosphere overall though.
Nice place to take a walk. You can walk through the rose gardens or just through the trail but you have to beware for snakes and bike riders.
Huge park with many fields and 4 tennis courts. They have removed the nets from 3 of those and people play soccer, cricket and cycle polo there. DO NOT park in front of the tennis courts. I do not recommend going there after sunset.
There are so many new park toys that I haven't seen as a kid, it's phenominal! They even brought back the seesaw, after they were banned for being to rough; by placing rubber where the seats would land, it's very safe. Speaking of safe, almost the entire floor is made of flexible mesh to prevent bruises or scrapes if someone falls.
