Amazing! If I could give this place six stars I would. Doc and his wife Amy are so welcoming. I brought in four guitars that needed some heavy TLC. I used to be an avid player but life took over and I put my music to the side. But I decided that after five years of not playing now I can start playing again since I am more settled in life. I took my guitars in and Doc examined each one and knew right away what needed to be done to bring these guitars back to life. The turn around was less than a week and to say WOW is an understatement. Doc is a magician and he knows his craft. My guitars have never played and sounded so good. I wish I had found the Guitar Doctor sooner. Trust me when I say take your guitar here you will not regret it. Doc is knowledgeable and will take care of your guitar. I could not be happier that I found the Guitar Doctor and got my guitars serviced. Definitely will be coming back soon with more guitars.

First time going to Doc’s place and I’m very happy with the results. I brought in a Taylor with high action that needed more then just the bridge shaved down. Doc took me into his office and went over the issues he saw, and explained the fix. He made me feel like part of the process, which put me at ease immediately. He had it back to me in one week playing like a totally different guitar! I went with the professional set up and feel it was absolutely worrh the money. Don’t hesitate to give Doc and his wife a call

I've known Doc since I was 16 years old, around forty years. He does fantastic work, is immensely talented and just an overall great guy. Doc has fixed things for me that most would never have taken on. His wife Amy runs a tight operation and specializes in folk instruments, especially Uke's and antique accordions. This is an Orange County Family owned business. As a kid growing up in Orange County, DOC learned some of his craft from the one and only Leo Fender. He can tell you stories about the origin of the electric guitar first hand and from the point of view of a young kid full of excitement growing up by the beach and performing up and down the coast in the heyday of the California Music scene.
If you have a guitar problem bring it to the one and only, Guitar Doctor.

The doc is an absolute expert at his craft. He brought my Martin back to life. I would highly recommend to anyone. He pays attention to every detail to get the instrument sounding and looking amazing. Thank you doc!

Great experience. I bought a bass at auction, a Tigima TW-66. Nice starter bass, unfortunately I could not adjust the truss rod. I took it to one shop who told me 2 days for a quote and expect two weeks. I called Guitar Doctor and was told come in and “Doc” would look at it. Once there I could see there were serious guitars in the shop. Doc ushered me into his work area and fixed my truss rod, tuned my bass, played it and had me try. So much better and for no charge. He explained my options for a full setup, no pressure, and even chatted with me about Manny’s Music in New York City. The Tigima is an inexpensive instrument, especially compared to the ones in the shop, but I never felt demeaned. I walked out feeling much better about my instrument. I think you will too.

My grandfather passed away last year from Covid, and he left a few instruments behind that were pretty much priceless to my family. Doc and his family were so helpful and kind, I brought them my Martin which was damaged by the guitar center. He restored it back to a beautiful condition (even more so than before!) keeping it as original as possible and was able to get it playing better than I ever thought it could play. Was told his specialty was in very refined set up work and that is true! Thank you pittillo family! I am so thankful to have met you!

I first came to Doc with a minor electrical issue with my guitar, but the second time he prepped one of my Fender strat with
. 013 gauge strings and he did a phenomenal job, the action felt incredibly smooth and the overall experience of my guitar was elevated beyond belief.

I started going to Doc with all my guitar needs after that. If you’re considering their services, I couldn’t recommend them more! They may take a bit of time to get your guitar ready, but when they do, it’s done right!

Been going to the Doc on and off since I was 13 years old. I'm 32 now. Took my Squier Tele Special to him when I first got it in 2004, to fix the jack and ground wire. Took the same guitar back to him 18 years later to put a Bixby Tremelo on it, and he did a FANTASTIC job on it. I paid a little more to expedite it, and he got it done in 1 day and I picked it up the following day. He even put a little piece of veneer to blend the wood where the previous bridge was, and he put a new feather weight bridge on it. Outstanding work! Taking another guitar to him for another Bixby instalation!
