Great, local beer. It's nice that it's not all hazy IPA and milkshake something or other.

The taproom offers a really chill atmosphere, The staff is curated with the absolute best people and most importantly, Gunwale has mastered the making of some of the best saison in California.

Decent beer just was told they were closing in 3 mins wish they had lmk they were closing early online said they had another hr. A longer heads up so I can enjoy the last round beer I bought for the gents would have been nice.

Came here to meet friends. People seemed nice and everything, but I have Celiac and can't have beer. They don't have any gluten free options that I can drink so we had to go across the street. I get that its a brewery, but it'd be great if they had something so I wouldn't feel like "that guy" who's keeping everyone from going here.

Great beer awesome staff. Have Curtis help you out he's the best. Good vibes while dealing with covid world, friendly, funny, helped us out great and made sure we got an extra beer in before last call since we came in a lil late. Will be back just for him. I highly recommended this restaurant.

Came in for a few tasters! Most of them were great! Loved the lemon lime dose - great sour. No heaters on patio so bring a jacket!

I’ve been going here for years since they opened. It’s my favorite brewery in OC and I drink beer there regularly. They have an amazing variety of beer on tap from farmhouse ales to stouts and so on.they always have a handful of IPAs available as well. I also wanted to point out that the staff there has been very careful and accommodating amidst Covid safety measures and I really appreciate that

They only have a couple of beers that are drinkable, we came mostly for the lobster truck.

Curtis is super patient and very knowledgeable about beer. I cant wait to come here again. If you like some thing light I recommend saison.

Clean and safe environment. Great IPAs and farmhouse ales. Probably the friendliest staff at any brewery I've been to.

Gunwhale never lets me down. Hayshaker is one of.if not the best Saison I have ever had. Costa Mesa's best kept secret.

We were around this area and we stumble upon this brewery and we are so happy we did. I think they recently open around 5 months ago, they have great beer and concept. I recommend to visit their website and of course the brewery.

Great brewery! They have added a huge outdoor area for drinking due to the covid19 restrictions that are in affect. Beer was great and it's nice being able to drink your beer outside. Especially when the weather is gorgeous.

They're prepared and have good policies in place for reopening during COVID19. I felt very comfortable with their social distancing efforts and the draft beer was extra delicious after 10 weeks of quarantine. Wear your mask inside and stay at your socially distanced table and you'll be good to go at Gunwhale

I liked ALL of them but wish I could have had more of the Double IPA. I sat in the back seating area which had a pretty cool view of the brewery. Cool spot!

A great little brewery in Costa Mesa. They are known more for their saisons and farmhouse ales, but they have solid stouts and pretty underrated IPA's. I especially enjoyed their California Scenario West Coast IPA. Not as hoppy as most west coasts. On the contrary it's delicate and floral. The staff is friendly, professional and patient. A great place to have a beer or 10. LOL!

Stopped by on a whim. Good beer, very friendly and knowledgeable employees. Quiet. Good if you don’t want a lot of noise. Taco truck outside is outstanding!

Great beers! We keep coming back for Baitball unfiltered IPA and Orangewood Hazy IPA. They are knock outs! Knowledgable and attentive barstaff, although at times could be a bit more cheerful. If youre looking for a "quiet place for a beer" Gunwhale is that place.
