My name is Adan Centeno, I completed my course today. I wanted to write Ms. Antunez a nice review because she deserves to be acknowledged for the hard work she puts in into teaching not 1 nor 2 but 3 levels. She is a very patient and makes sure to be clear when answering our questions. Ms. Antunez deserves to be awarded for handling a class full of men/boys because it’s simply not so easy. As a student i can see the headaches she has dealt with but the love she carries for the passion of barbering is what keeps her going. I hope she can have her own room or area someday i believe it be for the best and for the barbers. Ms. Antunez you rock #2023ClassPresident!

I started the Barber program back in August 2022, and came in without experience. Miss Antunez has been a great instructor for my classmates and I. Her devotion to help us succeed is reflected everyday with her lessons and advices on how to succeed in this industry. Miss Antunez takes care of all 3 levels of the barbering program and even then she has time to assist us when in need of help.

I recommend this program to anyone, for Miss. Is a great instructor and eventough this course is 1,000hrs long she finds a way to keep us engaged and makes the classroom environment fun.

I did my barbering program there, im currently a license barber now, and this was possible thanks to my instructor Ms. Antunez, she makes our journey of learning better each day she is there teaching, she pushed me everyday and since day one she was so supportive and positive, i love her passion for barbering and she transmit it with dedication, institutions like this needs people like her. Excellent job.

The teacher Veronica Espinoza takes her time explaining everything in detail. She answers all your questions. Veronica makes you feel comfortable going over all the CPR material.

Since the start of my barbering journey Ms. Antunez has always been there to push me towards my goals and has not once stopped pushing me in achieving what she knows i’m capable of. There’s time i want to give up and get unmotivated but she’s always there with a helping hand to be there and support. I was born with 3 fingers on my left hand and not able to work shears properly because of it. I knew coming in it was going to be a challenge from the start but I was determined to set my mind to getting my license and not letting it stop me. Ms. Antunez has been such a big help in this as she has gone out of her way to come up with a custom design for shears that would accommodate with my left hand that is currently in the process of being built by the welders at our school. Growing up with my hand has always been a difficulty and has been overlooked by many, I can confidently say that Ms. Antunez is one of very few that has acknowledged my hand and even when she she’s me wanting to quit she is determined to make sure i succeed. Truly one of the best teachers out there and is without a doubt dedicated to helping her students achieve nothing but greatness.

Here is my experience at the school. I believe it was in 1989 or 1990 I had ONE last opportunity in life at making a decent life for myself and my kids. I was really poor and sucking wind in life, I was a single parent and on welfare living at my moms in Montclair. The instructor was Sid Coffin who went on to become a RN but at the time was teaching the Certified Respiratory Therapist Tech
(CRTT) program which I by the grace of God completed and got my licence. Because of y'all a few years later I became a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) then a few years later went to the nursing program at the University of Little Rock and became a Registered Nurse. I retired at 65 a couple years ago because of covid. So I started on welfare and retired from Baptist Spring hill hospital in North Little Rock making @ 48/hr 2 days a week and @ $38/hr 1 day a week (weekend option). I now live in Florida on 15 acres decent home all paid for. With all this said and I know it all took determination on my part but NONE OF IT was possible with out Hacienda La Puenta Adult Education. So I cannot thank y'all enough for giving me an absolute nothing a chance in life. To any one there I'm telling you if this guy can do it keep at it you can also, THIS school is a blessing and today I am so thankful for them. I spent almost 30 years as a ICU CRTT, RRT, RN IT ALL STARTED THERE.now for all the English majors please forgive all the grammar and spelling mistakes!

I’m currently in the barber program, I have a couple more days left until I finish & complete my hours here… All I can say is that my instructor Ms. Antuñez made my experience here better. She has been supportive of me & everyone else since the start, always pushes her students to do & be better & guides us along the way, not a lot of instructors are like her!
