Hai Nam Restaurant, San Jose CA

My wife order one chicken rice togo when she paying cash with some quarter the lady yelling at her no coins and saying it bad luck to pay with coins and keep shouting at her, my wife keep trying to get more cash on other pocket to get even $16 but have to give lady $2 in quarter to even $16, the lady very upset, It suck when you low in budget and can't afford for 2 boxes of rice, she traumatized to go back,

Nice comforting food, different from chinese/singapore hai nan chicken, love the rau ram herb. Also very generous portion!

I’ve eaten here once while visiting 3 years ago and I constantly crave their mien ga, as it’s quite tasty. Your plate will include great amounts of juicy chicken and their friendly service will always provide any additional condiments or toppings for your food. I probably spent an hour scouring through every Viet restaurant in San Jose looking for this restaurant. I look forward to my next visit when I’m in the area again.

The chicken here is very sweet and delicious. We order the whole boiled chicken but it seem like missing "parts". I will check again. Or you guys can double check if i am correct.
The restroom door knobs need to be cleaned.
The kitchen floor was a horrible. I will review and adjust star on my next visit.

Great portion and great taste, chicken is juicy but not oily, dipping sauce is great, too, the rice is not plain rice, hard to tell how is it cooked, but taste better than plain rice. Also come with a delicious chicken rice noodle soup. Owner is very friendly, too.

My boyfriend and I are regulars here (so much so that they remember us everytime we come in) and and I can promise that your trip will be worthwhile. The broth is amazing with huge portions of juicy chicken. Tons of veggies, onions and complimentary kimchi. Such an underrated little restaurant and is truly a treasure for flavorful and authentic Vietnamese Pho Ga. PLEASE GO AND SUPPORT THEM! I would hate to see this restaurant close because lack of business.

Always good, large portion, tender chicken, we love their rice, perfect every times. Me and my wife been go in here going 5-6 years since they first open. The owner is husband and wife. Husband is in front, wife is cook in the kitchen. They always, nice and she remember us. Their chicken & rice is the best in San Jose
