Half Price Books reviews
17I always find something there. Staff is always accommodating Sometimes I have discount coupons.
As always, one will find treasures. But also, as always, many are rather too expensive. Having sold many books there I've had to sell some wonderful rare items. One in particular was a full hardcover set of Tails from The Crypt. I received $60 dollars for it. The next week I go in to find in the glass case for $200. I've always squinted sideways at half Price books since then.
Great selection! Our cashier sparked up a conversation, made us feel welcome and like friends. Not just customers
You can always find treasures at this store. No matter the location. One can get lost in here for hours.
A great mix of used and interesting books, movies, music. And staff are always friendly and helpful!
A great bookstore with new and old books and more. I still miss their funky store in old Concord it was a taste of Berkeley in the farther East Bay.
To cheap on buying books and overpriced selling them paid $6.00 on a book and they bought it back for $. 50
Used CD section is very small and overpriced. But, I guess it's not called 'Half-Price CDs. "
Great place to spend a few hours. Collectors section had really cool books way before my time, that I'd for sure read. Vinyl records, good selection.
Always a pleasant experience.
Found a good book by Isaac Asimov (The Gods Themselves)
Staff is always insightful ;-)
Best bookstore in Concord, possibly the entire far east bay! Please support it, especially over certain bigger chain stores. Here you'll find a broader selection, a generally more helpful and knowledgeably inspired staff, as well as incomparably lower prices. And yes, it's totally okay to get used books as gifts. More than that, you'll be far more likely to find something special and/or relevant at a used book store. And they carry the latest bestsellers too, if that's what's you're looking for. The best of all worlds!
Fun place to hunt for that rare book you may have missed out on. The prices are fair and condition of the books are good. Nice open flow through the store and tons of categories to travel through.
Always love to tap into my purist side at this establishment. Books, music, journals, cards.all at your fingertips. Can't not love it here.
Well organized and clean. My favorite section is the dvd and cd's. With Best Buy, Target and Walmart cutting back to both dvd and cd's, this is my go to place now. Very impressed on how they are all alphabetized and categorized. It makes it easy to shop. I also love how the friendly staff can order or transfer items there for pickup. Plus I can inspect the item before buying once it arrives. The book section will laid out well too. Plenty of parking now that it's in the Willows now.
Usually a hit or miss with books for me, but I always find great kids books and movies. Sometimes the staff is oddly unfriendly. It's sad they're leaving though, hopefully they find a new home in Concord quickly.
Really liked this place. It was my first time exploring the book store. Books, games, comics, DVDs. This place is cool to hang out and look around. Never know what you may find.
