This place is wonderful and staff is really attentive! They do wonderful looks with hair and make-up! No pressured up sale to buy hair product.

I've been going to Halo in Los Altos for a few years now. At times, stylists and front desk gals have been super rude and with a big attitude, other times it was okay. It just doesn't seem as great anymore than it was a few years back. It's too bad since its such a great location.

Stylist was pretty unfriendly and didn’t even asked how I liked my hair at the end. Just finished and was on her way. Ambience not relaxing, don’t offer water or tea, any of the basics that make the experience a tad nicer. Blowout pretty flat and I wouldn’t say used the appropriate products for my hair type. I wouldn’t go back.

Easy booking, more availability than DryBar BUT stylists are hit or miss. If you don’t want your life energy sucked by your negativity on your stylists face, skip Jahaira. Very unprofessional, very flat “curls” and lots of attitude. Just no.

Service: Great, receptionist was friendly & so was the blow out expert
Salon: clean, nice & modern
Satisfied? Yes, other than salon tech running about 10 -15 minutes behind, I would go back, she did exactly what I asked her for, beach waves, showed her picture I have attached.
Pricing: Approx $78 with tip

I had a blowout appointment on Saturday at 2 pm. I arrived at 1: 50 pm and was told to wait for a particular stylist. She was attending a client in front of me. The hairdo looked elaborate and after waiting for 15 mins, I asked the receptionist if she will be done anytime soon. In asking her, the receptionist came and told me it would be another 30 minutes! It was 2: 15 already by then! My event was at 3: 30 and there was no way they could go it. They did not apologize and just said it’s best to cancel and come another day! Completely unacceptable and unprofessional behavior at a salon!

I've gone here twice now and both times have had a great experience! Two different gals, both were great. Took care of my hair and loved the result.

I strongly suggest avoiding Halo Los Altos if you can help it. Their customer service is rude and blowouts are horrible, and definitely not worth $55 (+ the $10 tip I left!).

I made an appointment today and was told they were running late. I had no problem with that as I know things happen. The woman who took me to the shampoo bowl then asked what I wanted and I told her a traditional blowout sealed with curling iron curls since I have a brazilian blowout so the extra heat helps seal the style. We get back to the chair and she asks me what type of curls I want. I show her a picture and she tells me that since I booked a basic blowout we wouldn't have time for curls. I tell her that's fine, but thought it was strange she had asked me what type of curls I wanted as if I had an option, if there was no time anyhow.

Then another stylist comes out of nowhere and starts talking about how I won't be able to have curls since I have a brazilian blowout. I told her it has never been an issue as I've had curls last for several days with the brazilian blowout if styled correctly. She then asked where this had happened, and I told her at the Burlingame location and Drybar. She then VERY sarcastically asked if I remembered who had done my hair so that she can call and ask them what their technique was since there's no way it would last. At this point we've wasted 10 mins, and she tells the other stylist to just finger dry my hair and then use a curling iron so it will hold. I already knew there would be an issue when she said that because everytime I've received a blowout before they round brush my hair and then hit the ends with the curling iron (maybe that's the technique?). At this point I'm frustrated because I know that I'm going to have 0 volume and my hair will probably get tangly because it hasn't been round brushed first. Since I have a blowout it took them less than 5 minutes to completely rough dry my hair and then both women started curling with different curling irons.

Like I had told them, my hair was able to hold the curl. However, after leaving the salon only one side has stayed perfectly curled (looks great!) and the other went stick straight. Probably from them rushing and using different curling irons They had rushed through things so quickly that from start to finish my 45 minute service was done in 35 minutes. If instead of being snarky and difficult, they would have just round brushed my hair (which would have taken 10 minutes because of my relaxer) and then had one person do all the curls with the same iron, we would have still been done in time and the job would have looked good. Now I'm going to have to pay an extra $25 to get my hair properly dry styled at Dry Bar tomorrow if they can squeeze me in. I get that everyone has bad days and runs behind, but they shouldn't take it out on the customer. I wonder if these are new stylists who just don't know how to properly style different types of hair because I've literally never had these issues before. Worst blowout I've ever had.

This place might work for people with very fine hair, or who only have a few hairs on their head but I'd advise anyone else to steer clear. A huge waste of money and off-putting experience which was supposed to be a treat.

I recently visited Halo for a blow dry, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! The team was incredibly welcoming and friendly, and they went out of their way to ensure that I felt comfortable and relaxed throughout my visit.

The stylist who did my blow dry was fantastic - she took the time to understand my hair type and preferences and provided expert advice on the best style for me. The end result was nothing short of amazing - my hair looked and felt incredible, and I received so many compliments throughout the day.

Overall, I would highly recommend Halo for anyone looking for an exceptional blow dry experience. The team's professionalism, attention to detail, and passion for their craft were truly impressive, and I left feeling like a new person. Thank you, Halo, for an amazing experience - I can't wait to visit again soon!

Took my mother in law for a simple, old lady brushing. Oh my. They can’t even do that. No small brushes, no hand mirrors. They said it was the language barrier but my MIL told me the ’stylist’ simply did not know what she was doing. Give this place skip!

Terrible customer service, we were told the hair dresser WOULDN’T do beach waves on my sisters hair-“straight or curled only”-because we went to the old location and were 3 minutes late from walking across town. My hair was awful, my sister was upset, and this was the morning, as we told them, of our Dad’s service. Terrible place, will never, ever go back or recommend.
