Hama Sushi reviews
19Great sushi bar experience. The sweet shrimp was delicious. Loved the chefs recommendations as well.
The fish is super fresh. The chef is authentic and kind. Their Tamaki Negitoro and Kinnedai is the best. If you go on your own, there is a higher chance you can get a seat without waiting!
There are many off the menu stuff too. Chapchap is one of them. Check out the photo.
Amazing, simply amazing. I have not been to Japan (yet) but my friend has and his wife is Japanese (whose father was a sushi chef). This restaurant is as good if not better than one's in Japan!
One of the best spots in LA, the vibe of this place is unmatched. Not recommended for people born after 1999. No cell phone allowed, no loud talking and keep the questions to minimum and you will be fine. Do not be afraid to tip your chef and offer them a shot of saki. Hand rolls and sushi are delicious.
Incredible quality. Every piece we ordered was better than the last and the staff was very sweet. Don’t expect anything extravagant as far as environment and setting. It’s very much an industry darling for a reason, no frills just quality. Get your order in and enjoy. Just make sure you arrive early and before you’re starving as it builds a long waitlist, and sometimes wait times provided can be inaccurate. Take the time to check out their menu in the window. Explore local spots in the meantime or take in some characters while you wait.
This is some of the most authentic sushi and sashimi I’ve ever had! Kudos to the whole team here, they don’t mess around
Really amazing sushi. Get the tuna toro, yellowtail, and sweet shrimp! Will need to go back to try the snow crab. Staff and service was really nice. Great for date night (drinks and dessert spots nearby). Recommend putting your name down and grabbing a drink at Wolf & Crane across the street.
The only way to get better sushi in LA is to spend $150 or more per person for omakase. 20 people sit around the sushi bar where the chefs whip up food as you order it. Everything was flavorful, and the fish shone in every roll with that perfect melt in your mouth texture.
Delicious sushi, friendly staff and I like that they ask for no cell phones at the sushi bar. High recommended for great no frills sushi and Japanese food.
Decent sushi place where the chef make and deliver food to your plate right at the bar. Fresh sushi and friendly staff. Highly recommended
Third time I’ve gone and been pushed back on the waiting list because they chose to prioritize a larger party that arrived much later than us. They don’t take reservations so that’s not a factor. I have been coming here weekly but this is getting ridiculous.
This place is a little gem. Great sushi and rolls and fast service. Sometimes it gets a bit busy of course but good places do that! It goes on my best of LA sushi list!
Best sushi I ever had! A bit on the pricey side but not super expensive. The tuna toro is a must try! The eel sushi just refreshed my knowledge. With just toasted eel, it melted in your mouth. Been traveling in LA but would definitely try it again next time.
The food was amazing I enjoyed it so much you see some time if I don't eat a decent meal I will go cuckoo but cocoa pop and the prices are so good sometimes I have to save up just to get the food I want because I want to relax and eat good food and the restaurant is fabulous and it's clean and they're nice and kind and they serve you very well so I want to encourage anyone to go there go there with your mate take a friend hey go by yourself it's even better but I think it's better to go with somebody maybe four or five people cuz of food is so good so you can share your orders
Restaurant that serves only traditional sushi.doesn't serve the many rolls other restaurants do.but the quality and preparation is really excellent. Expect 45 min wait to be seated but well worth it.
Terrible customer service. Lady with light brown hair with bangs was very rude from the start. Completely interrupting me and my family as we tried to place our order. We then tried to catch her attention but she was too busy with talking with the cooks and I believe the owner completely ignored us. Until the very end when we were leaving he said a sarcastic “thank you” I don’t know if they delete their bad reviews but it’s completely shocking that they have 4.5 stars at this place. (The lady with dark hair and bangs was the only lady that was nice)
The sushi is amazing super worth probably some of the best sushi you will ever have but the reason for 3 stars is if you don't get sushi bar you might as well leave not only is it impossible to get a table but they pick favorites and will put other parties in front of you the service is the worst but the food is phenomenal.
Zero Star review
I was denied a table both inside and outside because "it's their policy to wear masks at the table" even though nobody else inside or outside was wearing masks. I'm not an anti-masker but I am doubly vacc'd and NOBODY else was made to follow this rule.
Oh and before she denied me because of the mask, she tried to push me away by making sure I knew they only serve sushi and sashimi. Like I missed the big sign she was standing next to.
I can clearly tell she was profiling me as someone who didn't know anything/wasn't going to spend money and made to feel totally unwelcome. Among my 15 yrs of working at the top end of the dining industry in NYC and LA includes managing a 3 star japanese restaurant for years. I've rang up thousand dollar omakase bills and never felt totally slapped in the face like that.
Japanese style sushi. Reasonable. Uni was fresh and nori was roasted perfectly. O'toro was fermented a little too much for me.that's OK. Rice in sushi properly cooked and prepared.but little too sweet. Taco slice was just a little bit hard, still good. I wanted to taste all of them but I couldn't for there are many kinds to eat at once. 'll go and try, then follow up.:) Great place.
