Hamilton High School, Los Angeles CA

Hello, to whoever see's this, please help me as soon as possible. I am really thinking of coming to this school, but in the area, and the kids, i really don't know if i am going to like it or not. Can someone please tell me about the area and the kids? Thank you so much

I like MCR but I heard this school is really bad.

I'm just gonna give the run down of my experience at Hamilton. My whole family has graduated from Hamilton so it was must that i go there. Hamilton has its good and bad moments, the pep rallies and all the fun activities made it worth it (got to meet mindless behavior), but if your not really focusing then your gonna be stuck. I went there for 9th and some of 10th (2016-2017) i'm now in the 11th, and I had to leave just to really catch up and get my grades together because you will be on your own. MOST of the teachers don't really care to help you but there are some amazing teachers that will give you the time of day and help you understand. They offer free tutoring from UCLA students.your better off trying yourself cause they don't help. Now I was in the Music academy and Stage tech (taught by Mr. Burch) is like the best class ever, Mr. Burch is a really good teacher also, but besides stage tech and specific music classes and dance, there is not really nothing different to expect. Music academy could be much better if they offered different classes like we used to have Costume/Makeup theater design where they taught us how to sew and learn theatrical makeup but for some odd reason.they stopped the class. And they need to bring it back. The popular cons are The drama, which is just as bad as any other school. DO NOT DITCH! DO NOT DITCH! That's the number one way to get off track EASILY. They not gonna tell you nothing either cause you grades and report card will let your parents know, once in a while i could understand being late and getting breakfast but don't fall into the habit of ditching. Now besides all of that i believe if YOU keep yourself on track then everything should be a fun high school experience. I'm currently on the waiting list to go back and finish my last year where i started so ill let google know the experience (2018-2019) if I get in.

If you are a humanities magnet student you will enjoy this school. It's a great program here and you will get all the academics you need. Other reviews may be negative but may be taking about the community schools but through the humanities magnet school you will have a positive experience. I am currently a magnet student here and I like the humanities magnet.

I go to Hamilton and i recommend you not to go their way to much drugs, fights and isn't safe. I was an a student then went to Hamilton and my grades fell now I'm failing staff don't even help.
