Amazing experience from beginning to end. Thank you so much to the professional staff.

We highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel has poor customer service! Poor management. I am a frequent traveler and on the job. I often stay in a Hilton hotel during my travels. So I booked hotel 2 weeks before travel. I took ill with covid like symptoms and was hospitalized. I asked my travel agent to cancel and hotel stated that they need 6 days prior cancelation notice. I find this ridiculous and absurd- how can you know ahead what may befall anyone 6 days ahead. I think it is just a deliberate attempt at forcefully taking money you have not earned. Shame on you, Hampton Inn, El Cajon. Big shame! Not a fan!

I only gave 4 stars for location and that's because it's at a corner with an in & out and a bunch of other restaurants which makes parking sometimes hard to find. Other than that it has been delightful to stay here and the breakfast is amazing with so many options. I'd come again for a staycation.

I spoke with Sebastian this morning regarding my awful experience. I was putting some food in the refrigerator when I saw a roach come out of the refrigerator and run into the cabinets. The manager came off as disengaged, unsympathetic, and not empathetic of my situation. Sebastian was rude, awful, inconsiderate, insensitive, disrespectful, and unethical. I asked for a full refund and he denied my request. This is disgusting and a health hazard. I WILL NO LONGER STAY HERE.

Stayed one night. Wasn't able to get the digital key initially because they were having a problem with the computer system, but I had checked in online and the room I was offered is the one I stayed in. I saw in other reviews people were unhappy about the water pressure. And upon check-in the person in front of me mentioned the same about a room on the 4th floor. The shower in room 215 had excellent water pressure and it was nice and hot. The room was quiet despite being on the back side of the hotel facing the highway. The hotel is new within the last 3 or so years and the decor is updated. I would definitely recommend staying here.

The staff was wonderful and attentive. The entire hotel appeared to have been recently remodeled. They had a very nice breakfast with extended hours. And, they are close to shopping and restaurants.
The only negative was the In N Out burger next door. It was clogging up the parking lot and diverting traffic away from the hotel. We had to leave the parking lot and drive back around the neighborhood to get to the front door for check-in. Also, their customers were parking in the back of the hotel using the hotel guests' parking spaces. Don't get me wrong, we love In N Out Burger, but it was a hassle to park at the hotel due to them. It wasn't the Hampton Inn's fault.

There is a sign and car spaces that reads EV charging but there are no EV chargers. The water pressure is so low in the shower it was like taking s shower in the rain.the sink water pressure was worse.front desk staff is great, that is the hotel's inly saving grace.for 167.one expects a decent shower.

Great place if you don’t need to park your car - it’s right next to an In andOut Burger with the usual traffic chaos that ensures. Also room prices is high given minimal service - not even scheduled housekeeping for over $230 per night.

I appreciated my two-night stay at this Hotel.
The size of the room is great, personnel are friendly and greet you with a big smile. Breakfast ok.
Just don't park on the front, Inn & Out burger drive true the parking and it gets very occupied by period, making it difficult to get in and out of the parking. Parking on the back of the hotel is just fine.

Kool hotel. Clean, good staff. Price is right. Close to a lot of eating places. The area outside the hotel is not too desirable but it's still worth staying here. For the wages of sin is death but the free gift of GOD is eternal life through Christ JESUS our Lord.

Laura/front desk was friendly and had GREAT customer service. The cook Anita was very helpful and offered assistance with making breakfast. The only thing that didn’t go to well was the flush on the toilet in our room. HOWEVER, after notifying staff they offered us another room right away. Great location it’s walking distance from the mall which had a Walmart inside.

Rooms were clean, hotel had ample parking. Pretty good location near the freeway and within easy walking distance to the mall and food. Walls were thin and the pillows were horrible. Bathrooms were nice. Breakfast had some good variety but few vegan options. The only reason this still gets 4 overall is because it was reasonably priced at a good location.

I rated the service 2 because I automatically got signed up for their stupid Hilton rewards program and they spammed me with emails even though I did not consent. Wi-Fi was slow.

My only qualm is the noise level from inside the rooms. If you stay in a part where the other guests are quiet and keeping normal hours, you’ll be fine. A few nights in, some loud-talkers who liked to socialize at 3 a.m. Moved in across the hall. I sleep with earplugs in, and they still woke me up. I turned on the fan to muffle the noise and that helped. So some more noise protection in the rooms would be nice.

The rooms and amenities were great. The Mini-fridge and microwave in the room made my 6-day stay more economical in the food department. I was able to buy some ready-made meals from Sprouts instead of having to dine out every day. I also appreciated the blackout shade, the USB ports for charging, the complimentary breakfast (good selection), and the fitness center.

The location was really convenient to my work, but also just everyday wants/needs. The front parking lot gets really crowded during the day due to proximity of In-N-Out. A lot of patrons park there. But there’s a full parking lot just around the back.

Nice rooms. Nice enough hotel. Location, however, is not good. First, it’s right next to a freeway onramp. Second, it shares a parking lot with In-n-Out. All the people dying for their double-doubles causes a huge line of cars that blocks half the parking spots for the hotel, and makes getting in and out (haha) a challenge. There is parking in back, but that concerned me because there were tents and homeless persons back there.

The comp breakfast includes DIY malted waffles…amazing…but the rest of the breakfast is substandard (cold cereal, some reheated frozen sausage patties, and bulk mini pastries (love free, but I wouldn’t pay even $2.00 for the breakfast here). Also a very smelly and filthy homeless man came into the buffet area and started eating the food. I was happy he was getting a warm meal…but his hands were black from filth and he was touching all the food (which the staff did not discard). It took at least 5 minutes for a staff member to kick him out, and they insisted he leave the food he’d taken (that wasn’t necessary because the food was going in the trash and this guy clearly needed it). The smell lingered for 10+ minutes until they sprayed Lysol and changed the stench into a disinfectant stench. This event was a sad commentary on the homeless situation in CA, but also highlights the problem with the location of this property.

I stayed 3 nights. No housekeeping. No clean towels or in-room coffee refreshed. I could have called and asked for it, but I’d rather see a bit of initiative from the hotel, especially as a Diamond member.

Staff were nice enough, but could have been more proactive.

No single use shampoo and shower gel (yay!). Enough fitness equipment for some cardio or a light workout.

This is one of the best hotels in the San Diego area. I have stayed in hotels in Downtown and Mission Valley but for this trip I wanted to try hotel with a "simple" access (i.e, free parking). So, by accident or fate, that quest for free parking led me to most wonderful hotel experience that I have ever had in San Diego. Some may say that El Cajon is not San Diego but the hotel is next to the Interstate 8 onramp and you can quick getting to any attraction that San Diego has to offer.

Free breakfast. Free coffee in the lobby. Pool. Fitness room. Wonderful housekeeping. Excellent rooms. Near by restaurants. A large shopping mall. All of these make this hotel a great place to stay.

What make this hotel an exceptional place to stay is the reception. The staff is very friendly and professional. From the moment I walked in to chec-in, I felt WELCOME. That was due to Heidi. She is a gem and her talent dealing with guest is extraordinary. The only other place where I had that impression was the Conrad in Downtown New York. Thank you, Heidi and the rest of this very talented, professional staff.

Cannot say enough good things about the excellent service we received from the friendly staff of this conveniently located hotel. We will definitely stay here again!

My regular lodging for the last 3 visits. Always loved it but the last visit in August 23 was probably the worst service experience. When I checked in, there was a young lady at the counter and she gave me a room that was smaller than the one I paid for. I explained to her what I had booked and why I needed that type of room. She told me 'I cannot just chase the guests out of the room! '. I told her that was not what I was asking for; I simply needed her to check if there was another available room since I had specifically paid for and explained why I needed that type of room. She looked at the computer for a while and just said there was nothing she could do. My wife then demanded to see the manager - the manager took care of that in just a few minutes, and we had a room that was pleasant and what we had asked for. It was also during the weekend of a pending storm. For three breakfasts after, there were hardly any food - no meat, no mixture for waffles. I understand there could be a problem with deliveries, but we were paying guests, and the hotel should have kept excess food in case of emergencies.
