Rooms need repair/updated.
Elevator works sometimes.

I was not overly impressed with this hotel.it was decent enough for the price and was clean but the shower was disappointing and the pool area looked gross. It’s one of those places that’s in desperate need of a facelift.

Looks a little dated, but beds were great, staff was phenomenal. Decent basic breakfast. Clean rooms and shower was great. Toilet had a hard time flushing. But overall I will stay again if needed.

Tired stained, dirty, sticky carpets. Worn and thin linens. Bedding not the usual duvet. Heavy uncomfortable.

Rooms smells like smoke. AC/heater didn’t work, sinks don’t drain, toilet doesn’t flush… No eggs with breakfast because they didn’t order enough.

Overall, my stay was relatively comfortable. I've stayed at a variety of Hampton Inns over the years, and this hotel was not as nice. The benches by the elevator were old, dirty and heavily stained. The pool was out of order and was an unpleasant eyesore. Leaving the hotel I could see leaves in the pool and the water was dirty. Lastly, one of the male front desk attendants had an attitude problem and was also talking very loudly on his personal cell phone when I approached him for assistance. He probably needs to be trained and/or retrained on what it means to provide a high level of customer service. A poor representation of Hilton, in my opinion.

This place is GROSS! I booked a room on our first night of vacation, we were wore out from traveling all day and from the pictures online, it looked more than adequate for a good night's rest. I was WRONG! We checked in around 9pm and as soon as we came into our room we noticed how FILTHY it was. Due to having a bad experience once in the past at another hotel, my fiance and I decoded to further check the cleanliness of the room. We didn't get any further once we pulled back the sheets on the bed. There was pubic hair stuck in the sheets, stains on the pillows and sheets and then, we seen BUGS! We immediately left the room and told the front desk (nicely and quietly) that we weren't staying. After a few days, I contacted the hotel and was never able to speak with a manager and was then told they have a no refund policy on cancelations. DO NOT STAY HERE!

This Hampton Inn is a scam. It in no way conforms to Hilton standards (have been a Hilton Honors member for 20+ years) and is a disgrace to the brand and the hospitality industry in general. Read the previous reviews (and ignore the responses from the owner) - they say it all. No money is being spent on doing even the most basic maintenance. The best I can determine is the owner is running it into the ground but trying to milk every last penny out of the Hilton brand before shuttering the place. If you arrive at this location, do this first: go to the back of the hotel and look at the 'pool'. Note the several inches of scum on the surface, the pool furniture thrown into this 'swamp', the trash, and the bolted gates with Merced County Health Department bulletins posted stating the area is closed due to unsanitary conditions (uh.duh). These notices were posted in early August and yet this owner cares so little about the location that money won't be spent to drain the putrid health hazard. The swamp is a simple preview for what lies ahead if you stay here. Was so disgusted that I contacted Hilton Corporate to let them know they are jeopardizing their reputation with a place like this, have asked for a refund, and am disputing the hotel charge with my credit card company. If only the Merced Health Department had shut down the entire place.
Addendum: Unfortunately, my experience with Hilton Corporate was a let down. They did make an attempt to contact the facility but, of course, Hampton Inn Merced refused a refund and Hilton Corporate said there was nothing else they could (or would) do. The refund, however, is beside the point - this is a place you should avoid at all costs and should be shut down. Caveat Emptor.

Pretty much the worst hampton I stayed in. The rooms had no hot water. After a day of walking in national parks, it's pretty much the worst thing to not be able to take a relaxing shower. Usually hampton also has multiple towels. This was not the case. In addition, the rooms smelled terribly when you turned on the heat. Like burning garbage. Beds were not great and the noise level was difficult to get to sleep. Finally, the breakfast was pretty much gas station food with rotten fruit. Do yourself a favor and avoid. Better off staying at a camp site.

They had bed bugs my girlfriend and I are still trying to get our money back
We walked in the room checked the bed and walked back to the front desk so a five minute stay we 200$

A disgrace to the Hilton brand!

We are Hilton honours members, we always stay Hilton and especially love a Hampton Inn!

Not in this case!

We booked a room with a sofa bed and when we got to the room there was just a bed, we were moved to a room with a sofa bed which was not made up and there was no bedding for it. Upon opening the bed, there was the most horrendous stain so we agreed for our family to all sleep in the one bed.

However upon checking the bathroom there was neither a plug for the bath or a shower curtain and the whole room was disgustingly unclean.

We were moved again to the second floor to a room with two beds. This was better but still unclean, with someone else’s hair on the floor.

The room was over the gym and the air con unit vibrated the room all night keeping us awake.

The wifi didn’t work and our room key stopped working halfway through our stay.

On a positive side, the communal areas were of the standard you would expect of a Hampton inn and the breakfast was nice.

All of the rooms we saw (3) need a major upgrade, which given the cheapness of our stay you can expect but the disgusting level of cleanliness was totally unacceptable.

If Hilton had any sense they would upgrade immediately or release the establishment from the Hilton family as to not taint the brand that customers know and love!

We arrived at 10: 20pm, took hours to check in. The first time we got our room (clerk had to “check” the room before giving us the key) —we arrived at the room and there was no running water. Had to go downstairs and tell them and then they gave us a second room. The second room still had NO running water. The security lock on the door was broken. We went downstairs to the front desk and the clerk told us it would be 15-20 min for a different room. After 30 minutes, clerk still said he was checking “50 people in” so we had to wait. At this point it’s nearly 1AM, he said he had to go check if there was a room available. He gave us the room key for the third room and said he didn’t check if there was running water. Elevators smelled like marijuana and floors were extremely dirty.

Our work truck got broken into and tools stolen. Next night someone else had their U-Haul broken into. Bad area, don’t leave anything in your vehicle, and if you can remove everything, just park right in front of the lobby in the light.

Last guests soap and toiletries in the shower. Then you know the tub was never cleaned.
Toilet did not flush - at all
Filthy carpets in the room and hallway.
I requested room service the second, third and fourth night of my stay and NEVER did anyone service the room.
Waiting in line at the front desk for clean towels, the couple in front of me are telling the clerk the room she just gave them was so dirty they didn’t want to leave their luggage there to come down. Clerk: Sorry that’s all we have.
Light fixture in bathroom has no cover. Electrical exposed.
Clock in the room doesn’t work.
Breakfast is typical Hampton but with the other quality issues I stopped eating there.
No lids for coffee cups or sleeves for cups.
The knives, forks and spoons are all different brands. The spoons are so small I had to use my fork to eat my oatmeal.
Last night there went to get some ice. On the door - machine temp out of service. There was no machine there. Just dirty rags on the floor. Out side the door in the hallway was last nights trash overflowing.
I went down to the desk clerk and ask where another ice machine was located. Ready? …. We don’t have any ice!
This place is one you DONT want to get near!

Worst hotel ever! They don't even deserve 1 star.
I checked in last Friday with a few other people, so we had two rooms in total. Just an hour or two after I checked in, my room was "available", so they checked another person in the same room. If I did not come back in time, my items would have been gone. As I checked out on Sunday, they were not able to check out one of one of the two rooms. Instantly called cooperate, they can't do anything to help the situation, but transfer the call. I was told to wait 48 to 72 hours for a resolution from the manager Jacky, but I have not received a call or resolution. I now have unauthorized charges on my card and no resolution. Do NOT stay at this hotel. The manager likes to hide, and avoid conflicts. They lack communication and talk about each other. Per Kimberly she stated that the evening staff is easily frustrated, and do not know how to work the system. What a joke.

The only counter staff member's work speed is very slow and problem-solving skills are poor. Additionally, the Wi-Fi password was not provided so I could not use it.

Ive been to this hotel multiple times over the last 3 years. It had been almost a year since my last visit and the plase really went downhill. This hotel is not maintained by the owners. The exterior is unkempt, the pool is green with algae, carpets dirty and stained. The breakfast had only very basic items. I will never return to this Hilton location.

Worse experience ever. I had 2 rooms booked under myself and another family member. The hotel staff were very unprofessional. 1 hour after checking into my room, they booked another guest into my room. I returned to my room the same time another person was literally using their card key to open my room. I had to tell them that I already checked in earlier so this is my room. They did not hold any accountability for this situation. All of my stuff could've got stolen if I didn't even come back in time. I left the do not disturb sign on my door as well. When I went to front desk they only blamed it on system issues showing that the room was available. They made multiple UNAUTHORIZED charges to my card and another family members card. They did not communicate or contact me at all during my stay about anything going on. They continued to deactivate my card keys for both rooms throughout my whole stay. On check out day they were not able to check out 1 of my rooms & refused to get me a manager. They told me that they will have a manager call be but they never did. They continue to tell me that the original receptionist that helped me didn't know how to use the system and gets easily frustrated and continued to blame everything on the system. I contacted corporate & they are no help either. They only keep transferring me back and forth. They continue to do multiple unauthorized charges to the incorrect cards for each room.

Customer service is not good. They didn't explain fees. I had to call to for them to release my deposit. Customer service hung up phone on me. Door wouldn't close without force.
