Hana Sushi, El Cajon CA

Nice sushi place great service lots of selection and they have a good drink selection. Plenty of parking. They have outdoor patio covered seating. The signature rolls are tasty as seen in my photos.
The ramen used some frozen vegetables and had a bland broth as a result, would avoid it unless they improve it.

Second time here. Very nice restaurant, clean and well kept. Service was fantastic. Quality of the sushi was amazing for a small strip mall spot. Overall, had an amazing time. The 4 star review is because of the price of Salmon Roe nigri, listed on the menu as "market price". Review of my receipt had two orders at $13.75 each. That's almost $14 for two pieces of Ikura sushi. I should have asked what the "market price" was, that's on me. But, it's not a specialty item and never imagined it would cost that much. Buyer beware. ASK!

I would say number one sushi place in San Diego. I am very picky person. Once I gave reviews it means a lot! Go and visit Hana Sushi if you looking sushi!

The portions were hefty. The customer service was alright, they made sure we were treated well and served promptly. The sashimi I got with my bento box was really awesome, it had a huge portion for only 5 pieces. I was a little annoyed that I had to choose between miso soup OR salad, when other places give both in a bento. Otherwise, for $14.50 for gyoza, California roll, salad, and a big scoop of rice, that was a sweet deal.

They put wakame in Inari nigiri, which doesnt go well together in my opinion. The hamachi kami appetizer, and other nigiri was great.

Hidden gem! Great service, good menu, tasty food and knowledgeable staff (talk to them and ask for recommendations, you won’t regret it). Staff took time to answer our questions and explain menu items

It's a great local sushi restaurant. The staff is kind, the interior is updated, and they provide a consistent, clean, and high quality meal.

Overall, my favorite go-to here is their nabeyake udon and sushi rolls, while other family members enjoy their salmon sashimi. Of the rolls, my main picks are the Crazy Roll and the Salmon Avocado roll.

Overall a good value. Food is fresh, but I find the sushi portions and style not consistent from week to week. With that said, it's normally good and I do enjoy the atmosphere and good service from the servers. They are quick as well.

Best sushi in east San Diego with by far the nicest and friendliest wait staff! Place is well decorated and maintained and the menu has some unique sushi rolls that stand out against the other places. Loved our experience here!

Best sushi place ever! Me and my family have went here for Mother’s Day and the staff there is so frickin kind! I love how they ask you for refills. The California roll is so good. Good restaurant overall can’t wait to come again!

My daughter and grandson set a dinner date here, and I'm happy they did, or I would have missed out. There were two surprises: the food was very good, and an 8 year old that likes sushi:) Good service, well prepared and tasty food. Happy to find an excuse to come back soon.

I'm honestly shocked this place has the rating it does. Literally the worst sushi we've ever tasted. The sashimi was SO gross.warm and super chewy - I had to spit it out.deep-fried California roll was so overcooked it tasted like oil and we could hardy chew it. Everything was bland, room temperature and mushy with barely any taste. Could barely eat any of what we ordered. Never again

I work late and was looking for a good late night food on a Friday and found this spot that said they were open til 11pm. I called to confirm and they said they were open til 10: 30. We arrived at 10: 23 and were immediately told that we have 3 mins to order and that the kitchen was closing. Sat down opened the menu and not even one minute later we were asked (by the same person) if we were ready to order. As we were feeling rushed we quickly picked out a couple rolls and ordered a beer. The general feeling from almost the entire staff was very unwelcoming. Then as we were served our food they begin mopping with a strong chemical cleaner around the sushi bar, where we were seated and made it very evident that they were ready to close. At this point it was barely 10: 35. In all honesty the food was well prepared and tasty and had it not been for the service we would absolutely return. But due to the poor accommodation and overall attitude of the staff we will not go back.

For any restaurant if you don’t want to be serving people til a certain time then clearly state on your website and window hours that you are closed at said time. Saying you’re open til 11p but pushing everyone out at 10: 20 is poor business practice.

So glad this place is open for dine in service.
Sushi taste so much better fresh served not in to go container's.
Hana has expanded it's restaurant and everything is new.
Always a great experience.
