Great sushi, ramen and atmosphere! Usually busy almost every night so you might have to wait but believe me when I say the wait is worth it! Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area!

My family and I just love this place, coming here for 17 years. Great food, friendly people, good prices. All day beer special buy one 22oz get the 12oz free, then during happy hour $2 points and $8 pitchers. The sushi is well proceed and served cold.

For my first time here, although I only ordered for take out, the workers that helped me were very attentive!

Food was bland and substandard quality. We have been eating here
for years, but this noon-time meal
was the worst food ever served to
our group of family members. Not
only was the food bad, but even the water tasted like general faucet water,
Even with a lemon. Servers seemed
to be untrained and lacked experience.
My bill came up to $60.00 and we all
Did not finish our food that we ordered.
The beer was excellent! However, it was not worth $60.00. We
will not be coming back ever. We will
find another Japanese Restaurant.

Huge selection. Fresh ingredients. Everything was bomb. This is the new sushi spot for sure.

Amazingly delicious food, fantastic customer service, and reasonable prices! I am thrilled! Been to Hanaoka about 4 times now, always consistent. I love the fresh sushi, husband loves Ramen, child loves edamame and miso soup. Perfect authentic sushi for a decent price. Bring the whole family!

After living in Japan for several years, I really missed the food. This restaurant is the closest place I found in SD that reminds me of my time in Japan. Love their sushi, as well as their service. Highly recommend!

Absolutely love it here. Always order take out but love dining in too. Their ramen, curry, sushi and everything is amazing.

Did take out today. A large platter that was ready in 30 mins. The fish was amazing! The salmon and tuna were fresh, buttery and melted in your mouth!

Definitely a go to place for authentic, affordable and big portioned food. Their wait staff is so kind and patient.the sushi boat "roll on boat" is 100% worth it and perfect to share between 2-4 people.
