Handel's Homemade Ice Cream, Newport Beach CA

You can’t try any samples when they have to many options and because I couldn’t try any I got a flavor I didn’t like and wasted my money, I had to throw it away. Don’t go here it isn’t worth it.

Some of the best ice cream at balboa. Handels ice cream is off the hook. The beach atmosphere fits it perfectly. And the staff is always friendly.

Terrible customer service, and inconsiderate employees! I will NEVER come back here, nor should anyone else.

I've owned a very highly rated restaurant and numerous other small biz's, plus have brokered the lease & sale for many restaurants/food shops, thus know the industry well.

Whoever owns this location should fire whoever was in charge tonight! Absolutely terrible treatment!

Very good fast service. Our family tried banana foster, coffee chocolate chips and Blueberry cobbler The banana foster was strong artificial banana flavored no bananas. Coffee chocolate chip was yummy. For our family preference ice cream was on the sweeter side.

Great tasting quality ice cream. 15 minute line at around 2: 30pm on a Sunday. I had the Spouse on a House and Horchata flavors. Both wete great. The servings are big, so come hungry or ready to share.

This was her 1st time at Handel’s and by the look in her eyes, they did not disappoint! After I finished mine I had to help her out with hers, always willing to give a helping hand lol.

A lot smaller than the other locations that I’ve been to. I couldn’t taste any samples, my pistachio ice cream was not bad but it could be better.

I definitely understand now why people always say “if I could give 0 stars, I would”. The girls working here are so rude. It was my family and I first time here yesterday and instead of explaining to us and helping us order, they made us all feel really stupid and definitely ruined our first experience here. I wish I would have gotten the girls names. But we won’t be coming back here. If you want good quality ice cream with GOOD, FRIENDLY SERVICE, I prefer going to Joes Italian ice, or just Rite aid thrifty ice cream.

It was my first time coming here after the beach and the girl working was so rude to me I wish i would’ve got her name because it honestly hurt my feelings. I was so excited to try it and she immediately brought me down because I didn’t really know how to order it and she made me feel really dumb making me repeat myself multiple times and looking annoyed instead of explaining to me the different types of cones, not coming here again

Service was great but the prices now are crazy! We been going everytime in Newport Beach California since they opened! I understand commerce and capitalism but 17 dollars for 2 of us was crazy!

Very small servings at this location vs what we expected unfortunately; not likely to come here again given other options.
Others locations are much better value and worth driving to as they give more ice cream for your $$ spent… Manager is a nice fellow here though.

This place is a must go to anytime we visit Newport Beach. Great milkshakes and great location!

I like the ice cream a lot. But after eating it for only 2 minutes, the cone broke and I got ice cream all over on me and didn't get to enjoy it. Didn't enjoy how the waffle was made, wish it didn't break.

Handmade daily. Wow. I didn't know anyone did that anymore. Black cherry flavor is #1 in a waffle cone

My sister said it was the best Cotton Candy ice cream she’s ever had, and my chocolate French Silk was delicious as well! They absolutely don’t skimp on the portion. All of the staff were very kind and sweet!

There nothing that makes a trip to the beach better than having ice cream on the beach. It’s nice and convincent to have a place offering such high quality ice cream in less than a four minute walk from the pier. The service is quick and the workers seem happy to be there. The price is just right and I can see myself coming back here on my next trip to the beach.

Root beer float could’ve used a bit of root beer, but the vanilla ice cream was quite good

This location is hands-down the worst of all.of them all. Plan to stand in line for over 30 mins with no one in front of you but the employees are ignoring you and they will still get your 1 chocaltee shake wrong. The worst part is, they don't care. This happens to me everytime I go there but tonight was special as I got a gift card for.handels for my bday. I drove down, waited in line till the return of Christ, get up to pay they handed me a chohclate ice cream cone. Order.waa.wrong. I hand them the handles gift card, and disbelief spills from eye and then tell me.i cant use it.

Wait, it's a handles gift card. Nope, they say it was forged and stolen. I take the receipt.out my.pocket for the gif card.snd silence and then the denied it again. They wouldn't even looked at the event. I left and will not return again. I will eat 100 in gift cards they no longer honor and go to cold stone

Would like to rate them with 5 stars ‘cause ice cream is perfect… flavors so really creamy and tasty, so many of them to choice it’s really good, but: the Clerk are so rude, I went today 2/3/23 and the lady that was there attending costumers was doing like she don’t wouldn’t like be there… 0 stars on costumbre service.
