Hansen Surfboards reviews
15The experience with a particular employee twice here, left a sour taste in my mouth. Both times Luke at the surf shop was straight up condescending and rude. I came in with a smile looking to rent a wetsuit, and Luke seemed to be doing me a favour by helping me. When I returned and wanted to provide feedback about a zip issue - same story. Im not new to water-sport but new to surfing — so I wanted to buy a board, but was honestly afraid to ask him anything more. If it hadn’t been for Levi who was patient and helpful I would’ve walked out a long time ago. Other than that, the place seems really nice and well priced.
We always come here, whether it's shopping for gifts, clothes or surf gear. BONUS, they're offering complimentary gift wrapping for the holiday season!
Really nice store with WAY more product than expected. AND super friendly attractive staff. Love my new sandals too. A+
This was a great place to work and be for a time. Emily Merril as well as Brent and Pami are the bread and butter if this establishment. Truly wonderful people to work with and fun to talk to. Glad to have been apart of this place for a time.
Best customer service ever! Our favorite store in San Diego — highly recommend! Good prices and carry a lot of things you can’t find elsewhere. Great selection of Melin hats
A GREAT store. Their selection is unmatched and the store is so well-organized. Hansen’s staff was very kind and helpful. We enjoyed their annual sale and rented a surfboard!
I've been a customer here ever since I bought my first long board when I was in highschool. They have a great selection of boards, wetsuits, and all types of clothing. They have a great summer sale if you're looking for some bargains. There are always lots of employees around to help find something or help choose the right board. Hansen's is a part of Cardiff and Encinitas history and it's still family owned.
Never been here nor do I surf, but somebody left a large T-shirts from this shop in New York Manhattan restaurant I work at years ago. With pandemic weight added, one of few Tshirts remaining that still fit me, thumbs
Such a great experience everytime I go there. I always find what I need with great quality with a team that is always happy to help.
Awesome surf/bikini/beach stuff!
Great service, knowledgeable staff and incredible deals!
My ski boots were killing me for 3 trips in a row. Christian gave it a shot but the fit still wasn't working. I went back in to get my boots expanded by "Squeely" and he knocked it out of the park. Squeely spent almost 3 hours moulding my boots and the new fit is killer. I'm so glad I went into Hansen's, I couldn't recommend a better boot fitting!
Madison and Brady were so helpful with the products and were so quick and checking us out. Great customer service! Thank you from SF!
The guys find replacement discs for my son's snowboard.and installed them right in the store! Awesome job!
As someone who has bought two boards and countless wetsuits at Hansen's, I will never shop there again. The customer service is atrocious.
I brought in my wetsuit for warranty repair and they handled the situation shockingly unprofessionally and poorly. Ripcurl sent them a new wetsuit and they called me to pick it up, I was traveling and told them to hold it. I would pick it up in a month. When I came back it became apparent they sold my warranty repair suit that Ripcurl sent, I was patient with them and waited months. After 4 months, I was in a bind and really needed a suit.
They claimed to have held an equivalent suit from XCEL. I was excited as I didn't really care if it was the same suit I sent in, just that I would have a similarly priced suit. When I went in it was a model down from my initial suit yet they bumped up the thickness so the price was the same. At this point, it was just rude and insanely poor customer service. More than half a year had passed and they tried to pawn off a thicker lower XCEL model.
I'd recommend in the future to own their mistakes and work with customers to fix them. Instead the way they made it seem like I was an inconvenience to them.
Mistakes happen, how you handle them is what matters.
