Harbor Psychiatry & Mental Health / HPMH reviews
11Wonderful people. Very accommodating. I have recommended others to go there as well. Compassionate and helpful.
Staff is rude and unprofessional. Would not recommend if you want a place that values your time and money.
This review is important to me, because after going to therapists and psychiatrists for twenty years- knowledge to who you “let in” as a person is important. At this point in my life, it’s very difficult to know who to trust. However- it’s also given me a good “detector” (for better lack of verbiage) for which doctor is full of B. S. And luckily, Dr. Diwan was able to give me the warm, “light” feeling that I haven’t felt in a psychiatrist in a few years. She felt so nonjudgemental, open and friendly. Like the kind of person you could find yourself opening up to without trying. I am grateful for her ability to listen, adhere to my needs but suggest her own and all the while be a human. We need more psychiatrists like her.
I always have problem with their staff for pre-authorization up to a point I complaint one time in writing to my doctor so my problem resolved after one month. Again I have the same issue and they are apathetic on phone. Also I was visiting Dr. Zarrabi and at some point they told me she is just visiting patient with critical condition and didn't give me appointment!
However, doctors are not bad and their reminding system is good.
If I could give negative stars I would. However the only reason that I am giving a star is simply for the fact that this office does actually have compent medical providers in it. I am writing this review in reference to one psychiatrist working in this office named dr Laquicha. I have never in my life felt so disrespected and looked down upon as I did when I spoke with this woman. My regular psychiatrist, Amanda, who is AMAZING had been out on maternity so I had to see a new provider for the interim. Over 2 years we had found a treatment plan that worked well. With in minutes of sitting down she said OK so we need to stop this medication and start you on new ones naming off medications that I had already tried in the previous years prior.she told me she wanted to change all of my meds. Upon telling her that I was not comfortable with changing all of my medications at this time she said"OK well then I'm not comfortable filling your medications.good I dont need you on my license! " with a laugh and smirk. I'm sorry but for you to be walking out of your office basically yelling that you "don't want me on your license" now we have a problem. I am a nurse I've been coming here for years I know how Hippa works and how you are supposed to be compassionate to patients and respect their privacy. I have been here for 2 years now and it breaks my heart to say that I will have to go find somewhere else unless the miserable 1 retires.
Be sure to read all the reviews on here and Yelp. Pay attention to the negative ones because they are true. Myself, along with many others apparently, have been treated horribly at Harbor. They stopped and started several medications with no explanation. You will see one PA on a visit who will give you a particular medication, then on your next visit a different PA with different opinions will switch you to someone else. Don't these people communicate with each other? Apparently not. This place without question added to my mental health issues and caused me undue stress. The therapists are a joke. It's a total assembly line. Pretty much every single time I showed up for a therapy appointment I had to wait. Sometimes the patient scheduled after me had already shown up. Earlier this year I was sent home without seeing anyone because of their scheduling screw up.
As if this wasn't humiliating enough, to add insult to injury they sent me a bill out of nowhere. Apparently I am not the only one they've done this to based on other reviews.
This place is awful. Avoid at all costs. Given the pervasive incompetence, deciding to become a patient here could be fatal. It almost was for me, and seemingly many others.
This office gets a 5 star as it treats me much better than my old office at Central City Community center
Awful place. Perhaps if I had private insurance I would be treated differently. No psychiatrist, just a PA. As far as therapy goes you are treated like a number.
Great doctor. Very open to getting to the bottom of the issues, asks questions. She tests her patients to confirm, modify, or rule out a diagnosis, a true scientist.
I come here to see Dr Ross. He is do amazing and cares about his patients. Those people had unfortunate experiences but ive been coming here for about a year now and never had a problem. Remember eveyone is human and humans make mistakes.
