Harney Oceanside & Lounge

My favorite sushi to date- Harney is the place to be at. The unique flavors in their specialty rolls are heavenly, but my favorite part was the texture. Harney is the only place I’ve ever had a roll that could be bitten- yes bitten. The consistency of the rice and seaweed/rice paper wrap was SO SOFT you could actually take bites of each piece. No tearing, no chewing. Their specialty rolls are so good, you can leave the soy sauce and wasabi at home. I went two nights in a row and tried four different rolls, two entrees, two apps and two specialty drinks. The sophisticated lounge atmosphere with the pops of vibrant colors, really complimented the ocean breeze and bustling cityscape outside- Ultimately making for a romantic night near the beach. You need to check out Harney!

Quick night out. Service was fast. So you can get in or out quick or stay and enjoy. We got in fast on a Friday night. Cool! If I’m back in Oceanside and feeling sushi, I’ll be back. Enjoy! This place is a safe sushi bet.

Great happy hour with a choice of appetizers, sushi rolls, nigiri, and drinks. Our server was cheerful and responsive. The quality of the food was excellent - fresh, made with care and exciting flavors. Really loved the spider roll, with its smoky flavors and crunch. And the Harney Peno was the hit with all diners!

My favorite thing about Harney is the variety of different vegan & vegetarian options! There is a lot of creativity with the menu and flavors I usually do to-go orders and have had no issues with this. My only “complaint” is that its a little pricier, but being located in the heart of Oceanside and good atmosphere, it is justified in my eyes!

Sushi was amazing & service was great! Very similar style of cuisine and service as at Arigato back in Sacramento.

We went here with my wife last year and are planning to stop by again. It’s a must now on our annual Oceanside trip!:)

The food was delicious, the edamame were cooked perfectly and they have a lot more vegan and vegetarian rolls from which to choose. The service was good - in the past it's been hit and miss. Atmosphere was nice also, not too loud, but it was also a Sunday night.

This place rocks and the happy hour makes it quite affordable to have a worthy feast. Good food, good atmosphere, good service.

The food quality was decent.felt kinda 50/50 on each roll as far as taste goes, though. Some were really good while others were not. I dont feel like it was any fault of the restaurant that I disliked them, though. I think I just ordered some that weren't for me.

Sushi was fantastic and large portions! The onsite DJ is a fun touch! He was really into the music.very unique!

I’ve been coming to Harney’s for some years now. The food is absolutely delicious! I think it’s great how much they’ve expanded the vegan options from when I first started going and I would just get a cucumber avocado roll with vegan eel sauce. They have a nice section in the back of the menu with various options. I like that they put thought and effort into those options and that they don’t seem like an after thought of just very basic vegetable options. They’re flavorful and so worth going for! Our waitress was very kind and would check on us and refill our water before our cup could even get empty, which was great because we drink a lot of water lol. We went on a very busy night and I believe they were short staffed in the kitchen so we did wait quite a long time for our food, and I feel bad that all that had to fall on the sushi chefs. Despite being so busy, the rolls came out super delicious and in such great shape, they didn’t let it affect their work at all. I am giving the food and staff five stars and I just hope that they’re as appreciated by management as they are by the customers!

An Oceanside Ode to Unforgettable Sushi and Vivacious Vibes!

Do you ever have those moments when you take a bite of something so delicious it makes your taste buds do the cha-cha? Welcome to Harney Sushi in Oceanside, California, where the food is as fresh as the ocean breeze and the staff are as warm as the Californian sun. Five stars? Without a doubt! This place has earned a constellation!

Now, I'm a bar aficionado, a connoisseur if you will, primarily because of my love for unparalleled customer service and my knack for swiftly getting in and out. In this arena, Harney Sushi never disappoints. The staff greets you like a long-lost friend and takes care of you as if you're royalty.

It's a busy spot, reminiscent of Times Square on New Year's Eve, and occasionally you'll feel like you're at nightclub with a DJ throwing down tracks while you dine. Now, if you're anything like me, that might seem a tad odd at first. But, hang in there. The rhythm is going to get you! It's now become part of the charm that makes Harney Sushi unique.

Tony, the maestro manager, has the uncanny ability to remember faces, making everyone feel like a VIP. Then there's Angelo, the bartender extraordinaire. He's less of a bartender and more of a cocktail wizard. Ask him to whip up something creative, and he'll concoct a liquid masterpiece right before your eyes.

As for my recommendations: a bottle of the velvety sake "JDG", some of that heavenly fried gyoza, the satisfyingly salted Edamame, and four orders of the divine happy yellowtail nigiri. If sushi were a symphony, the yellowtail nigiri would be the crescendo. And don't even get me started on their specialty rolls. The Osider and the Bruce Lee are both title belt holders in the heavyweight sushi roll championship.

In short, Harney Sushi is like the sushi version of a beachside carnival: loud, fun, and guaranteed to leave you happier than when you arrived. After every visit, I leave feeling as satisfied as a seagull with a french fry, ready to soar into the sunset. So, get yourself to Harney Sushi - it's a place where the sushi shines brighter than the California sun.

This is one of my favorite sushi places in North County! Everything is always fresh and if you want delicious sushi! Go there.

We went for happy hour and the deals are great! Our waiter was quite busy but was definitely responsive to our group of 8. I recommend the Rolls Royce if you like a bit of spice!

Atmopshere was great, service was okay, food was really good but my pirate susgi rolls were too spicy (i like hot food)

My family and I came to celebrate my birthday. And it was absolutely delicious. Everything was on point, and the service was exceptional. And i'd like to add that the food came out very quickly. Atmosphere added a great touch to our dining experience.

I brought a big group here because the reviews were great and I was really disappointed in the service. We all got our own plates and the server missed my food all together. I asked about it twice, very nicely and watched family and friends eat there food and mine arrived after everyone was done. I never received an apology and I couldn’t enjoy my food because everyone was done. When a place is as expensive as this place is and service is this bad it’s disappointing.
