Hawks Public House, Sacramento CA

Hawks was great. Definitely make a reservation if you go on the weekend. We got the focaccia for the table and it was amazing. I got the rigatoni and it was pretty good. My boyfriend got the chicken and he says it was a 7/10. Our friend got the ribs and they were the best thing any of us got, but the rice that came with it was very weird. Their drinks were all very good. The pomegranate seltzer was so delicious. Awesome service, but the restaurant was pretty loud. We will return for their fried chicken Mondays.

This is perhaps my favorite place in Sacramento. I’ve been here 7 or 8 times in the last year since discovering it and have never had a bad meal. I’ve tried multiple items on the menu and all have been wonderful. At the same time I really do enjoy how Hawks changes not only their food menu but their drink menu as well. The only one real downside is that the restaurant itself is rather small so it’s a bit crowded and loud on busier days. However, that is a minor detail compared to the great food and drinks that the friendly and helpful staff create and serve.

I would love to give them a 5 star but the inconsistency is my main reasoning for the rating. I’ve ate at hawks 1 day a week for the last 4 weeks. I’ve ordered exactly the same thing “Herb Roasted Chicken”. I always order one to eat there and one to take home.

This last time eating at hawks was where I realized there really is a week chef and weekend chef. Whoever cooks on mondays definitely lacks passion from what I can tell. Sometimes I get a mushroom or 2, others I’ll get a pile. Today no mushrooms on mine but my to go was piled with them. Mine tasted like they dumped the salt shaker on the chicken for breading.

The food here is usually pretty good but they definitely lack consistency from Monday to Saturday.

Definitely going to give this place a break for awhile to let them get a new chef or something.

Lots of good things about this place but I must say the specialty drinks were absolutely superb!

We went during off hours. There were bar bite options and limited beer selection. I suspect their dinner selections are much better. However, not too impressed over our burger and bread and brie option for the price.

Billy and Craig were such a good team behind the bar, enjoyed watching and tasting their excellent libations. Oh and the food is exquisite

ORGASMICO! I support these guys like my life depends on it… and often I have thought if this is my last meal-‘I’m okay with that!

Food is fantastic, the homemade potatoes chips and onion dip is to die for. I love to take out and bring back to my office to eat.

Casual elegance, familiar and comfortable atmosphere. For some reason reminds me of Paris. Food is top notch. A midtown destination.

Chill vibe, delish food, and amazing drinks. Our waitress was very kind and checked on us several times if we needed anything. The pasta was fresh and sauce was creamy, it was such a good plate, I wish I had more!

Cool for a laid back night with not too much commotion.

I have no idea why it took me so long to come here! The food was amazing and the service was great. The cocktails were really good and you can tell the bartender put a lot of effort into her work. The main reason why I am writing this review, though, is because of the hostess: Kylie. She was so nice, funny, and welcoming. She didn't feel like a hostess, she felt like a friend welcoming us over for dinner. We came early for our reservation so we sat at the bar. She walked up to us and made sure we were okay and gave us updates. She hilariously got my name wrong when we walked in (She called me Gabriella) but played it off well. The restaurant was loud; it was a simple mistake. Hawks was great but Kylie was the reason we are coming back.

The menu here looked great, but unfortunately did not live up. It took over an hour from being seated to receiving our meal, and when the meal came it was cold. Incredibly disappointing from what seemed a promising spot

This was our second visit and we shared it with friends. The drinks are innovative and well balanced. The pappardelle was incredible.al dente to a fault. All of our meals turned out wonderfully.if you're looking for a bar that's not a bar and great food Hawks is for you

I found this place for a evening dinner. I enjoyed that there is a small seasonal menu. I had a house made sangria for my drink. It was very tasty without being an overly strong. I ordered the wagu Burger without cheese. It came with a garlic aioli sauce. My daughter had the halibut in a claim sauce. Both dishes were well prepared and size appropriate. One other nice detail is they offer you sparkling water or regular water to your preference.

Great dinner tonight at Hawks Public House in Sacramento. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff were wonderful in accommodating us.

I went here for the fried chicken on Monday night. We have heard stories about it being so good. I guess that it is because we arrived at 6: 30 P. M.and it was gone already! My husband got the halibut and clams and it was very good. I got the Parmesan chicken and it was truly fantastic! The bar tenders, while very busy, are very sweet and funny. This is a good place.
