The best cardiologist! I was misdiagnosed by another cardiologist and dr Shenkman sat through my echocardiogram to see if I had nitro valve prolapse which I did not even though another misdiagnosed me. Great Dr

0/5. She saw my dad in the hospital. Severe heart failure + fluid overload.
I never write reviews unless I’m very bothered.
She’s very dismissive. I would mention he would take nitrog EVERYDAY for his chest pain and she told me it was fine, no worries. She never cared to figure out why & diagnosed it as ‘pneumonia’. Which was WRONG.

I got a second opinion because I already know she’s wrong— New doctor said STOP using nitro because it does more damage and turns out he had a severe valve leak and his heart needed to be transplanted months later.

*** Her or her office only replies to the ‘good’ reviews but ADVOCATE for yourself and always get ANOTHER OPINION.

I went here some time ago because of valve regugitation- Shenkman basically scoffed at the idea that it was an issue that caused problems. She insisted my condition NEVER causes issues- even though a family member had open heart surgery to correct it. I was told by a much more prestigious cardiologist that my condition would also require surgery. A long time later, I have developed symptoms as predicted and I just want to say that getting a second opinion at this office was not only expensive and a huge waste of time, but very very very dangerous. She shouldn't be practicing medicine. I'd like a refund.

By the way the audacity of this person to suggest I don’t know what doctor I went to Rather than explain or apologize. Or offer a refund! Or conduct yourself in any decent manner. No, instead blame me. Absurd. This response tells you everything.

Dr. Shenkman is an amazing doctor! She saved my husband’s life after he experienced 2 heart attacks. She is very caring, knowledgeable, responsible and organized. She takes her time to explain what is occurring, and that you receive the care you need. She never rushes you if you don’t understand something and will gladly re-explain the topic to you. Thank God she was my husband’s doctor.
