Helwig Vineyards & Winery, Plymouth CA

Great place.great collection of wines.and the staff was very nice. I have to mention about "Paige" who was extremely good. Starting from wines tasting, she explained about the process of making wines while she served different varieties for tasting. She took us to a tour of underground wine storage where wine barrels were stored.

Delicious wine, best view in Amador, extremely popular (re: crowded) on weekends, so get there early! Concert series is a wonderful way to spend a summer evening!

The grounds are beautiful and have amazing views. Did not try the wine as the tasting room was very busy— you can find smaller and quieter places to taste in the area. We did have the food though and thought it was great and they have a great outdoor space!

My daughter had an amazing wedding at Helwig last month. It was so wonderful to have the entire venue to ourselves. The view is absolutely stunning and the staff is great. The wedding coordinator, Kathleen was a joy to work with along with Bill & Cheryl who did an outstanding job catering the event. We are so glad we are wine club members so we can go back and reminisce about that beautiful day!

50th bday party in the cave. Hospitality was incredible and the accommodations were top notch. We have been members for year, and have joined the festivities in many of their concerts and events. And to boot their wine is well priced and there is no better in the Amador area.

Beautiful venue and winery, came for the music not the wine though! Very nice atmosphere and good vibes.

I went to Helwig for their summer concert series. It was a great time. Their food was delicious and the wine was excellent! I would recommend this place.

Amazing wedding venue, yuuuuge cave, and an AWESOME lineup of wines. Round-Up Red is where it's at!

Their wine was okay but nothing great. Two stars before the view and outside area was great. But the winery was way too crowded and the staff was inattentive, which made for a disappointing experience. Also disappointed to find out Helwig owns accommodations in Amador but does not consistently run shuttles for individuals from them. Much room for improvement here.

Wonderful spot! Very dog friendly - be watchful of local snakes though! Gotta be a mindful puppy parent! Wines are fantastic- love the Iditared (sp? - don't have the bottle anymore) and the Round up Red.

They had a great private tasting room and beautiful sitting area that overlooks the vineyard. The staff is fun and nice and the wine is good. They often have really good salsa on their wine too. We signed up for the wine club because of their deals and the fun events hey hold

Friday bands at dusk. Great food, views, sunsets, company, music and wine. Dosen'jt get better than that

My friends are in their wine club. Beautiful ambience. Will be back for one of the concerts they are hosting this summer.
Super busy on a Sunday.

Beautiful winery and cave tour. Wine was mediocre and stingy on the pour. No complimentary pour for military/servicemen which most do in the NAPA valley. Despite the beautiful premise. I will not return.

Jim was phenomenal. Made the experience from Montana absolutely worth it. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you Jim!

The view was beautiful. However, the wine was not good, overpriced and very dissapointing. The truffle potato chips and the view were the high points.

Sam was serving us as we were tasting, and was very informative about the wines we were trying. He was super friendly about it too, wanting to share his knowledge more than anything. The wines were tasty (especially the Sparkling Rose), and the tasting room was nice and spacious.

Gorgeous winery! This was our first time visiting Amador Wine Country and Helwig was our first winery we went to.
We got there around 11: 40 it wasn't very busy so we were able to get right in for tasting. Our server was not very engaging so that made for some awkward silence.
We really enjoyed several of their wines and will be back not for the conversation or the lack of but for that tasty wine!

We love bringing crackers and cheese with some fruit and sitting overlooking the surrounding area. Have a hummingbird who visits us, too. Stop in the tasting room and pick up s split to drink with lunch and enjoy the ambiance. Good wine, great company, and beautiful view.does it get any better? Try the Helwig Roundup White for a fresh taste (great with cheese and crackers).
