Very good, very attentive. We had a bigger party so we pre ordered everything. Loved the hamachi- but pretty much all the dishes were good. Get the drinks! Loved my fruity cocktails.

My favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. Three of my all time favorite “there was life before this dish and after this dish” dishes are from HLAY. The frozen pear soda espuma, the tomatoes, and uni panna cotta (holy moly x2000.)

The menu changes often and some favorites disappear and reappear. Everything is wonderful.

Forever grateful to Jonathan Gold for writing about this one ️ The food here has brought me unimaginable joy.

Such an amazing dinner! Everything we tried was delicious and while very different, the flavors of each dish worked both separately and together. Loved the hamachi and the duck confit.

What an amazing experience to dine here. The restaurant was small but there was enough space between us and the table next to us. Everything on the menu was perfect… the cocktails were all named after movie quotes, how special!

We were totally in love with the Uni panna cotta, I’ve never tasted anything like this before, a must-try if you come! I also want to mention that their toast was amazing! I love the crunchiness texture so much, definitely kept you full even though the rest of the portion is small

This is one of those spots you have to try. I'd tell you which plate was my favorite but everything, yes, everything they served us was unbelievable. We had 6 or 7 different plates and every plate was simply another explosion of favor or rather experience! From their amazing cocktails to their desserts everything was 5 stars. We'll Be Back and I can't wait. Great job team!

The food! Me and my friends wish we discovered this place sooner. Service was great too. Fun atmosphere. One of our favorite parts where the pens the us lol. First time trying to frog legs and I love them.

Everything here was good. Nothing stand out though. Creative cocktails and a pretty wide variety in menu of small plates.

Love this place, especially the cocktails. But the food is hit or miss.

Must order
-any of the cocktails. Insane
-Castelfranco salad
-duck liver
-Coconut panna cotta

Less impressed and wouldn’t re-order
-duck confit
-Manila clams (pork overpowered the flavors)
-Hamachi (too spicy to taste much)

HLAY has immediately become one of my favorite restaurants! This place has a quirky, eclectic vibe with creative food and drinks to match!

Every dish we tried was excellent, and even the bread was memorable. I recommend the Uni panna cotta, which was an absolutely unique flavor. Other highlights include the chicken liver mousse, the steak tartare, strachiatella, and the shaved ice dessert.

I am already planning to return here to try the other half of the menu.

Tried 6 dishes, clams were the tastiest. Get them. For drinks, get Arturo’s Promise. Fun atmosphere

A definitely must try place in LA, the cocktails are really good (would definitely recommend the mezcal one), the food is varied and awesome (the duck is probably the best duck I ever had), ideal plates to share with your whole party so everyone can taste different flavors. The staff is great, really attentive and also is a nice touch that you can see the inside of the kitchen working your orders

So disappointing. Extreme flavors—salt and vinegar bombs. Not good. And the tables were too close to each other. So confused by the rave reviews. How? One star because the food not only sucked but was also surprisingly expensive!

Met friends who suggested this place! Didn’t really have any expectations other they our dinner companions were into food and wine. So glad we went. Everything was done so well. My favourite dish of the night was the savoury Uni Pana Cotta. Other highlights were the Ahi Tuna carpaccio and a Scallop with a umami dressing!

Cocktail place. I don’t drink but the tapas-like food was excellent. Favorite was the ahi tuna that was perfectly spicy and great flavor. Scallops were good in a sweet sour passionfruit bath. Escargot were grilled between pork belly yakitori style. Frog legs a bit too charred for my taste… cute spot to meet for drinks and small bites.
