Hertz Car Rental - Glendale - South Brand HLE reviews
15 My recent encounter with Hertz and their car rental circus left me seething with discontent. Opting for a Chevy Cruze for a cross-country jaunt turned out to be a lesson in enduring mediocrity. The vehicle's appearance might have barely passed muster, but the true gem of this debacle was the laughable excuse for a stereo system.
Oh, the stereo – a masterclass in dysfunction. Departing from Los Angeles, the stereo begrudgingly offered a semblance of functionality. Yet, as the first day drew to a close, the car's speakers collectively decided to engage in a symphony of silence, punctuated only by the cacophonous chorus of hissing static.
Summoning the patience to address this farce, I dared to ask for a smidgen of compensation – a laughable attempt to mend the irreparable. What did I get? A measly $50 voucher, a slap in the face from a company that clearly thrives on treating its patrons like mere inconveniences.
If you harbor any desire for a rental experience that doesn't double as an exercise in exasperation, do yourself an immense favor and cast your gaze elsewhere. Hertz has mastered the art of disappointment.
So far so good I got the best car I've ever drove and for cheap I defiantly recommend renting from hertz in glendale on brand very nice people work there.
Great place to get a rental, to my surprise we're cheaper than Myrtle beach price's.
Scam, they will call right when you can’t cancel to tell you your car won’t be ready on time. Should be illegal what they are doing.
Customer service is the absolute worst. Made a reservation online for pick up at 12PM on a Saturday. Called the site at 11: 50AM to inform them I would be a few minutes late. Got to the door by 12: 02 and sure enough not only was the door locked but the employee helping her “last customer” refused to even acknowledge me and instead just pointed to the door for me to read their hours. Beyond rude. Definitely won’t be renting from this location again.
Worst service. I booked a car to be delivered to my home address. At first they told me ok, but then they called me and said that I needed to come in person. I checked with the employee I spoke to if I could rent a car with a driver’s list of my country (Russians), she said yes. After 1.5 hours, I came to them, and they conferred, telling me that I could not rent a car with my driver's license. I got the impression that I was deceived, and they simply did not want to give cars for insurance cases. I bet on 100 dollars that if I came to them to rent a car, as a tourist, according to my rights (my country is Russia), they would give me any car for my money. SIMPLY DISGUSTING. P. S-manager talked to me like he didn't care about his work. You can safely put a rating of 0 stars!
Customer service is terrible, reservations are not guaranteed and they are not helpful at all.
Nice cars to rent, even a Tesla Model3.
Don’t be late on your appointments to pick up or drop off. They will end up giving your reserved car to the next walk in, and if you drop off your car late you get shafted for anywhere day of rental $
Limited car selection, I received a defective, dirty, no power, seemed to have transmission problems, revving high RPMs car using my AAA Gold Member Plus monthly rental rate of $23.04 per day. When I turned the car in less than 24hrs later I was charged $129.19 to turn the car 73 miles later with a full tank of gas. The phone rep couldn't understand English when I was trying to cancel. I missed my trip to my 96 yr old Great Aunt's funeral because I had to return the car & pick up another car at another location. Pasadena Hertz has a wider selection. Glendale only had electric cars & I needed a gas car for a road trip.
My lawyer has agreed to write a letter requesting a full refund. I got a 2 week rental from Pasadena even though I missed the funeral. Pasadena Hertz was better. Let's see if the final rate matches the AAA quote.
TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE! We made a reservation a week before we had to pick it up and we get there and the lady says they have NO cars. The lady was not apologetic at all but said thats just how things are. NEVER NEVER RENT FROM THIS PLACE! I should’ve looked at the reviews before booking.
As previous comments have made abundantly clear this Hertz location does things by the book and they have a senior member of staff who manages to make things more difficult than they have to be.
Luckily and the reason for this 5 star review they also employ Ryan (I hope I spelled that right). Ryan is a young lady at reception who takes pride in her job and will go out the way to help you. It’s also her birthday today - 03/21/23 - so if you see her give her a smile and wish her happy birthday. She’s the best
I had a great experience picking up my vehicle. Ryan was kind and informative. Her energy definitely brightened my day.
The worse place to rent a car. They don’t have the vehicles that you reserved. I was there with 2 other people waiting for vehicles that we reserved but were not there. Then they charge more for the upgrade. They don’t have a drop off box. Very inconvenient. Customer service is terrible. I called to let them know that I left the vehicle outside and that I would take the keys the next day and asked if I could be there 30 min after the drop off time and they said no. Will never rent from this place again.
Oh where to begin. Customer service is none existing at this location. The Armenian lady who was there is very rude. This location is in Glendale, CA and after dealing with her I dislike having to go into Glendale to do anything. Rude, unfriendly, mean must be a trait that runs deep in the Armenian culture. When I return the car there was a young African American woman working there. It was only her second day and she was so friendly. I enjoyed my 5 minute conversation with her. Unfortunately Armenians. Are the most racist group of people I have ever met that this young woman's career at Hertz is going to be very short lived. I wish her the best and you will find something better. You have a great personality. Since Miss. Thing had you sitting in the corner and wasn't training you how Unfortunate for Hertz to be missing out on what might be the best thing for that location.
The service was very bad. My husband reserved a car on line an it went through only to find out when we got to their office, that it was a different car and he needed to pay more for it. My daughter went through the same thing. She was told that she needed to pay more for a car even though she made a reservation for a different prize. The Arminian lady at the front office is very rude and has bad customer service. It seems that they just want to get more money once you get to their office. We went to the Enterprise across the street, and it was very nice, great customer service, and you pay good prizes, no surprises. I will not recommend Hertz on Glendale at all, but I will Enterprise a 100%.
