Hertz Car Rental - Montclair - Central Avenue HLE

Do not rent from here. I should have saw the warning sign from the beginning. My insurance card reserved a car from Hertz. On a Saturday I picked up the car. The customer service agents had on dirty clothes and appeared to be sleepy. I was told to give them my ID and debit card for a $50 deposit. As soon as I left they charged me over 300$. I called them and they stated it was a mistake. A few weeks later they debited my card over $800. Hertz is the worst. They are scammers they hold on to your card and bank information and use it at their leisure. My card was compromised numerous times by Hertz. They hire dishonest people. Please be aware. Hertz is the worst rental car business ever. I’m still trying to get my money back. They were paid by my insurance company and refuse to give me my money back in a timely matter. It’s been over 25 days and they still have not given me my money.

DO NOT RENT HERE! I made SAME-DAY Reservation I knew a deposit was required, but I didn't know the amount. I took a Lyft from my home to the location we walked in, and immediately they stated that we needed a DEBIT or CREDIT and the deposit would be $500 on top of the rental price $190. So I had no other option. We desperately needed the rental. So we were handing over the license and DEBIT card another employee said it was SAME-DAY RESERVATION so we had to use a CREDIT card, and that the vehicle we reserved was not available so we had to pay the difference for the next size up. REALLY? !? !? SO we walked out CAR LESS and furious. We called ENTERPRISE RENTALS and they saved our day! 35 minutes later, we got a rental, and the deposit was much lower, and they take DEBIT CARD!

We came to rent a car and we’re met by German when we arrived. He made sure to accommodate us in every way possible and provided us with the best rental car experience we have ever encountered.

I love this branch Monique, Darnell assisted me with my rental great and efficient service also the Branch manager I forgot his name but great service. I got a rental for a Tesla loved it and was a cleaned vehicle I got awesome service top To bottom branch. Loved the Tesla and coming back only at this location for rentals. Pricing and service top of the line experience at least for me. Thanks and god bless you.keep up the great work.

One of the worst car rental experiences. You don't get the car / kind of car you reserved, takes about 45 mins to get your car, and incorrect information is communicated to you about car exchanges and swaps.

Nice clean office clean rental polite staff friendly too would rent another car.feom them.

Simple office, in a plaza with a bunch of other businesses

very friendly and helpful staff (although maybe understaffed during busy hours)

I booked online day of reservation I walked in and came out with the car keys. Friendly employees and over all smooth experience.

Horrible service. Expect to wait in an empty lobby for at least 45 minutesOn checkout and return. Also, they will always take something out of your deposit and make you fight to get it back. Take pix. Cars are dirty going out.

Great service, cars are kept in very good conditions. Monique was very pleasant and friendly, she helped us thru our rental process with a genuine smile. Awesome customer service
