High Country Lodge, South Lake Tahoe CA

Beautiful motel in the forest of lake tahoe!
Rooms are big and clean, they are also very new and tidy.
Service was great. Very friendly guy! Would come back for another stay! Paid 88$ for two guests, king size bed, non smoking room.

Far from Casino. Rooms modern, clean and quiet. Managers super nice. Staff excellent. I left my sunglasses in the room and the maid held them for me. Parking easy! Great place. Fridge, coffee pot

Great experience here. Set your expectations properly and you won't be disappointed. Comfortable, clean room. Friendly, helpful owners. And about as close as you can get to Kirkwood or Sierra for a reasonable price. Will be back on my next adventure!

I had to book a last minute stay for a week of work in Lake Tahoe. No way was I going to commute 4hrs per day and put in 8 onsite.
High Country Inn came up in a search.
So I booked and the price for what I am inclined to think for this area made me wonder, "Ok what's the catch"?
No catch! Just a great place to stay on the edge of South Lake Tahoe with a very well kept facility, nice lawn and patio area and all around friendly staff.

Not a bad place to spend the night. Without luxury. It can be seen that they are trying to update the outdated elements in the room. This is a pleasant fact. It's great that you can play basketball at will. So I think this is a good option for an overnight stay.

Check in was fast and efficient. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Our room was ready (early) and well appointed. The facility is older but very well maintained. I will definitely use them in the future. Thanx for everything

It's difficult to find a place to stay in South Lake Tahoe that's affordable but pleasant. I'm really happy we found this place. The main room was updated nicely, and it was one of the cleanest places I've stayed in in a long time. I wish they had done a bit nicer job updating the bathroom, but again, it was very clean so that's nitpicking a bit. We will definitely stay here again! Ernie's Cafe almost next door had very good breakfast.

Stayed last April 2021… no frills, but clean.
Drive / bike to convenient beaches on south shore and Emerald Bay.
Shopping and decent dining nearby.
Friendly staff and good rates.

Ok for the price. Got everything you need from hair dryer, fridge to microwave. Location is great.

They cancelled our reservation! This was over New Year's Eve weekend, so everywhere else was booked and we had to drive back to the Bay Area. Will never stay here again.

The high country lodge is awesome. Nice rooms, after just being remodeled by the owner. Comfortable beds, good WiFi, and a great location! Overall, a very nice little lodge, and will definitely be staying here again.

Would had been 5 stars if I didn't have to get on my knees to use the shower. They only have a sitting shower option. I get that you want to be inclusive with showers to those that need help in the shower, but please still put a holder for the people that want a normal shower at regular height.

I was honestly really surprised at the quality of the room. Everything was updated and very clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the check in process was easy.
