High Desert Inn reviews
11 So this review is for the housing. Not the hotel rooms. Lets be clear on that first.
The housing is ALWAYS extremely clean and well taken care of. I've never had a single issue with them. The garage is well lit and easily usable.
The bathrooms are all clean.
The bedrooms are all fresh linens and floor is vacuumed.
Did the finger dust test on corners etc. I'd say 8 out of 10 no problem.
Would I stay here again? Yes. Like I said no issues with this place at all.
They always treat me right every time I've been here. And I've been here at least 10+ times. Thanks guys!
Condition is marginal as I'm sure there is not much money available to maintain these very old facilities. Also a lot more expensive than the old days of maybe $30-$40 a night. Now $150 a night. Again probably not enough NAF to meet budget. Still, full of history.love the old photos of the flight test golden years.
While we were happy to have a house for our family and yard for our dog.the yard was awful and not cared for with sticker plants everywhere.
The house was yes dated but it just wasn't super clean. They provided a vacuum. But I guess it was just to look at because it didn't work.
There was hair along the corners as if it was mopped before being swept or cleaned properly.
It was nice staying on base so we felt safe.however it was a bit disappointing.
Not bad. I would stay there again. Only thing is almost everything is outdated. The kitchen, AC….
Need to clean air ducts because allergies. Not customer service friendly for those on TQSE.stay in an airbnb or hotel instead.
Nice place to stay if you need to work on base or you have Mil ID. Otherwise it's long drive to get food and supplies.
A decent room if you are working on Edwards AFB. The other choice is to stay off base and drive 45 minutes each way.
Expensive and needs a remodel. The rooms are "suites" with a living room and bedroom, but this is because the hotel was originally built with shared bathrooms, so you have to walk through the bathroom to get to the bedroom from the living room. Tried to get the air conditioning to work and was told it was the tail end of winter so the heaters hadn't been switched to air conditioning yet. Also, mattress was a little stiff and sheets a little rough for my tastes.
If you like wearing coats to bed and multiple layers when watching tv in your overpriced, dated, hotel room, you'll love it here! Big brother controls room temperature so it's a comfortable 63 degrees in January. They came and looked at it and said it was working fine.next trip I'll bring my own space heater!
We stayed here at lodging last week in a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom w/ garage and backyard house! Just beautiful. I thought we'd get a room, but we got a house and you get a choice of house with or without pets! I am a military veteran and my boys love spending time on base. It's quiet and safe. Edward's Air Force Base is our getaway from Los Angeles spot!
While the rooms are dated, many of the rooms are an entire suite. The bathrooms are small. Additionally, like many other bases, heating and cooling get fed from the base, and can make for an interesting visit if the temperature is unseasonally outside the norm. Staff was great!
