It has been 6 days and they cannot send a simple prescription over to the pharmacy which is so critical. During this time I have visited pharmacy, called doctors office multiple times and left voice messages and no result. Only person i have been able to speak to is their hired call center.

I hope someone reads this and gets back to me asap

Dr. States is Awesome. But because I'm currently cash only. $300 for insulin because I'm diabetic, and $900 for Trulicty. ARE YOU KIDDING? I guess I'll go blind, because I cant afford that! NO "samples"? And don't even start with me about the wait time to be seen.

Friendly and helpful staff at this clinic. Call ahead verse just walking in if you can. Save you some time waiting in the lobby!

I love this clinic. They always see me quickly and provide wonderful medical care. The whole staff is wonderful. Attentive, caring, smiling. I have never had a bad experience at this clinic or any of the family health care clinics
The sports medicine floor is very good too! I highly recommend this clinic and the staff here. They are the best I've encountered in over 50 years

Dr Bortner is the only reason I continue to stay here. They are horrible at answering the phone, do not call back even tho you leave 500 voicemails, are ridiculous at refilling medications or doing prior authorizations, refer you to clinics with the most carless doctors, and the nursing station is awful and doesn't answer the phone ever. They call regularly and don't leave a name on their voicemails or a call back number so you never know who was trying to reach you. I am beyond fed up with being treated like garbage as a sick person and having to PHYSICALLY DRIVE DOWN to the clinic to speak to a human about my medications. Their only response to this problem is we are understaffed. I hear that I really do, but how hard is it to have someone actually check the voicemails, how hard is it to hire an office person? Its not the impossible feat they're making it out to be, so my recommendation is do not go here if you are disabled or chronically ill.

I arrived 5 minutes late for my appointment. The receptionist was with another patient and out of nowhere I was weighed down to say that my appointment had moved her for an hour later. The point here is that she must wait to give me that information and give me my privacy. He said it to me in an unpleasant tone. So instead of giving confidence to be cared for in this clinic they assure us that we do not want to return.

No sense of urgency and they delete reviews. Please pick another facility for your own mental and physical well-being

Because of one rotten non qualified doctor, who put HIS OWN personal VIEW on pain mgmt, I've now been without my 11 year med. Do NOT SEE JOHN DODGE for any help. He alone has caused gre harm

Just trying to get a hold of an operator for a phone number. Been on the phone for an hour and a half on hold never talked to a person. Super unprofessional and they never had the right number. Faster to go to the DMV and get seen then it is just to get a hold of an operator for a number. Definitely filling out a complaint.

If you have choice, save your time and money by visiting another clinic. If the doctor is having a bad day, he will cut all of your medications and send you on your way. I have a very serious, diagnosed, life threatening condition which requires medication. Apparently the doctor's ego is more important than saving his patient's life. Sassy and Pretentious, just like you would expect from "boystown"

This place is horrendous especially the sports medicine department. They have no clue what they’re doing, unprofessional and untrained people. They don’t even know how to fill a referral and they do t return patient’s calls. Their director promises to take care of issues and doesn’t follow through. Do yourself a favor and don’t go there cuz you won’t be taken care of

I am really confused and frustrated…been calling for a couple weeks, the automated response says I’m first in queue yet I’ve stayed on the line around 30 minutes then it directs me to voicemail. I’ve left 3 voicemails and no call back. I finally sent an online request for an appointment and still no call back. It says online that they are open but you’d never know it. I really wish someone would call me back - I have a painful shoulder issue.

UPDATE: Someone from FHC called me the morning after this post after seeing it and said he would patch me through to a live person at Hillcrest Sports Medicine/PT to make an appointment. Unfortunately, the person that answered the phone said "we no longer do scheduling for Sports Medicine" and said she would find someone to help. I was on hold for 25 minutes longer. I finally have an appointment but WOW is this a dysfunctional system for scheduling. Is there a better way to do this? Just curious.

Re: Dr Sarah Schneider, Podiatry surgeon.

I left a review on another clinic's site.
Dr Snyder is a fantastic surgeon! My surgery went very very well. I felt very comfortable with her on our first meeting. She is very caring, informative and she has a great bedside manner. In my opinion that's a lot to say about a surgeon. She always kept me informed and was always happy to answer any questions I had.

Thank you Dr Schneider!

Honestly this clinic is the worst. Don’t get your COVID vaccines here! They scheduled an appointment for me to get my first COVID vaccine during everyone’s lunch time. So I waited in an empty waiting until the receptionist came back from lunch then I waited for an hour watching all the nurses and doctors walking in from lunch at different times. Why bother scheduling me during the clinics lunch time if I was just going to sit there and waste my time. Some of the receptionist have really bad attitudes. They should be working for the billing department instead.
I finally got my first show but will definitely be getting my second shot somewhere else.

Trying to get the nurse to return your call in a timely matter is a waste of time here. It is going on 5 hours waiting for a return call. I have called at least 4 times just to leave a message for the nurse.

Absolutely fabulous place. I drive 30 minutes out of my way to come here, because the staff is polite and the doctor I see seems to genuinely care about his patients. The lab is also better somehow - blood draws are less painful here than at other locations. I think they make more of an effort to be gentle.

I get my physical therapy here. And every time I go in I always have a good experience with the staff and Doctors.

I wish I could give it 100 negative stars, this place and all the family health-care places of San Diego are horrible, you can't reach your doc even in a emergency, they lose your info, they prescribe meds and don't check if they'll interact with current meds or conditions, they're filthy, the homeless and their care come before yours, Dr. Rojas, Dr. Kamil are awful, they are way too busy with the homeless walk-ins and can't keep track of the patients or keep up

Categorically the worst patient experience I have experienced in my 50 years, primarily attributed to the support staff and management team. I requested two nicotine patch prescription refills through their patient portal - 2 denials; really? Its an OTC medication to quit smoking. I was 5 minutes late for today's appointment and they said the doctor would not see me. 5 minutes! I mean how many minutes do patients wait? My last appointment I waited 20 minutes in the lobby after arriving on time, 10 minutes in the examination room until the doctor arrived, then another 15 minutes for a nurse to give me a shot the doctor ordered. Coming from the UCSD health system to FHSD has been night and day for patient experience. Save yourself the headache and not go to FHSD Hillcrest.

Terrible! The resident doctor I saw today at Hillcrest Family Health Center was dismissive of a serious medical issue. To makes matters worse he was arrogant, sarcastic, rude and said something highly inappropriate to me
