Hofsas House Hotel reviews
5Hofsas House is a must in Carmel. The hotel has so much character, it's centrally located and the rooms are very clean. Would highly recommend.
Great location, clean, accessable and convinient. Stayed 1 night. Room was great, spacious for our family of two adults n 2 kids (2/4). The only thing that sucked was the noise from the neighbor rooms, all night. Thin walls/loud neighbor or just our luck.
The hotel is nothing like advertised. Nothing like the pictures online. We checked in and checked out. We reserved a two bedroom suite and I spoke to someone at the hotel who described it. The reality? Nothing like described. A king bed in one room with an old side table and a chair that was well worn. A charred old fireplace that was hardly ambient. The second room, two queen beds in barren space. This is not a suite where you would spend any time. I wrote the hotel and said we checked out because it did not meet our basic standards. No one ever replied. The excellent rating is a joke. From what we saw, excellence was not any word I saw or would use.
Going on nine years ago, I’d planned two nights of our 25th wedding anniversary at this place. The hostess gave us our keys to our room. Mind you, I booked the room with a fireplace and balcony. The best and most expensive room. Instead, we entered our room and no fireplace, but it did have a balcony. Fortunately I brought proof of our booking. I was given the excuse, that the current tenants of the premium room have been there over a week. Hostess said to me, “What do you want me to do, kick them out? ” Even with a discount offered, we did not stay and found a beautiful place close by that put Hofsas House to shame. I’ve been telling this story for years and will continue to do so.
Centrally located, clean, nice front desk people, free continental breakfast, can walk to Ocean Ave, parking is included
