Hog Island Oyster Co. reviews
15Great place for quick bite. Fast service, great food. Have been coming here with colleagues
We sat for a while before anyone came. I had jumble beer-battered shrimp with Old Bay fries. What I got wasn't great, but I guess it is an Oyster restaurant. Maybe I'll go back during my stay and try the Oysters.
We take away some BB oysters.
Small one but full freshness in the mouth.
After taste stays long in the mouth.
Perfect match With Pacific Ocean water.
Only fresh oysters allow take away. Open on your own.
This place is a must try. I don't eat oysters but I did try the fried one. It was good, small but good. I also had the shrimp and chips (fries) with obay seasoning OMG. Loved it My drink with a margarita (see their menu) was delicious. There will be a line but it went somewhat quick. The staff is friendly and the vibe was great.
There was a wait due to a party that rented out the bar, but the staff continued to do their best to seat parties as soon as tables were available. It was a pleasant dinner while dining outdoors.
Rich options of Pacific oysters, good presentation of dishes and quality of the fish. Good decoration and terrace with a view of the mouth of the bay. Good table service and attentive staff. The hostess can take her role more seriously, she would give the restaurant an upgrade!
I was skeptical that Hog Island would live it to the hype, but it definitely did. Do yourself a favor and order the clam chowder!
Great food, great service & friendly staff. Atmosphere great. You can eat indoors or as we did outside with a great view of the bay bridge.
Oyster was reasonably priced for a touristy area. Food was okay. We got the cioppino - seafood was fresh but was hoping they would give more of the stew.
You can't go wrong eating Seafood here.
A restaurant where you can drink delicious wine without being expensive.
Clam chowder is unique because it contains shellfish.
Since there are a lot of customers, it takes a long time to order, and the customer service is not that friendly, which could be improved.
We were at the ferry building and decided to try out Hog Island Oyster Co. It was lunchtime, and there were about 10 people in line! We were thinking of giving up when a very alert host noticed us and asked if we wanted to sit at the bar for lunch! We were so excited and were wondering why these people would rather wait! The best part of sitting at the bar was watching the amazing chefs perpare the food. Anyway, we had the most amazing food here. The oysters are magnificent, and we loved the Chipotle Burbon ones the best.
Although the prices were a bit harsh with high prices and a weak yen, the oysters and wine were delicious. The service from the staff was also nothing to complain about.
Personally, I think oysters taste better when eaten fresh and raw than grilled ones. It was a bit greasy after being grilled, and it felt like a lot of butter had been put into it.
Great variety of seafood options in addition to oysters. Probably the best clam chowder on the west coast.
Venturing into Hog Island Oyster Co.with my wife and rambunctious toddler in tow, I half-expected a seafood showdown, but boy was I shell-shocked! The oysters, fresher than my toddler after a nap, slid down easier than a bedtime story. The ambiance? Let's just say if oysters had living rooms, they'd want them to look like this. And the staff? They catered to our every whim, showing the patience of a saint when little Timmy decided to demonstrate his 'seafood dance'. 10/10 would recommend. If you don't visit, you're simply clams out of luck!
