Nice little ramen spot located inside Mitsuwa Market.

Ordered the Shoyu Ramen with Ikura rice bowl. The broth was rich and flavorful. Noodles were nice and chewy and paired well with the rest of the ramen. Definitely no complaints when it comes to that. The Ikura was also great.

The toppings were also quite good for the most part. The pork chashu cuts while nice and fatty was just a bit too chewy. Egg was seasoned well but just a little too hard boiled to my taste. That's just my personal opinion but I'm sure most people will still love how delicious the rest of the ramen is.

Even though it's not my personal favorite I would still highly recommend this place if you're craving some quick tasty ramen.

Broth 5/5
Noodles 4.5/5
Toppings 4/5
Egg 4/5
Appetizers 4.5/5

Really really good. Ramen may not be the best in San Diego but given that it’s inside of an awesome grocery store, I will definitely be going back for it. I think one thing I would like to see is more showering on the pork belly but the staff was really nice which made the experience a lot better!

Horrendous service. Decent ramen. Waited 40 minutes tonight. The old man at the counter has no idea what’s going on.

Located inside the Mitsuwa grocery store, the inviting glass case menu display helped make ordering easier. Pretty standard ramen, order at the counter and sit yourself style eatery. Ramen was satisfying and food came out pretty quickly. Have some water ready, mouth was dry after finishing our high sodium meal.

My favorite go to Ramen spot and it's inside a Japanese grocery store! Try all the Ramen dishes, I'm sure everything will hit the spot!

Nice ramen shop inside the Mitsuwa Market. Really excellent broth, some of the best I've ever had!

I'd definitely recommend ordering extra Tokusen toroniku! Also definitely order chili oil on the side as well. It really brings this ramen up to the next level!

Service here was also fast, so a great spot to pick up a quick lunch as well.

Their charsiu pork bowls are LEGIT.

Ramen is solid, too — my husband always raves about his, but the couple times I’ve had their ramen, the egg yolk was too done for my taste. I prefer jammy/softboiled eggs in my ramen, and theirs are more hardboiled.

Service is always excellent. I’d give 5 stars if the charsiu pork bowls were larger (but tbh, they’ll never be big enough!) and if the eggs were truly softboiled, as is the standard at many similar restaurants.

It's one of the best and tasty ramen for an affordable price. I got the spicy miso Chasu large ramen and it's so delicious.

Me and my husband randomly checked this place out after going to the nearby ramen joint and found our they had little shops in there so we tried it out. The shrimp tempura udon/somen is absolutely amazing and so is the chicken curry cutlet.

If you want ramen that actually tastes like what you would get in Japan, this is the place. Bring cash because unless it's changed since I was there last they don't take cards.

Literally my favorite place to come when I visit SD! Santoka, the ramen shop inside is seriously one of the best ramen spots I've had since Japan. Just gotta get there early before all the good stuff is gone from the fresh section.

Not sure what happened to the salt ramen broth lately. Santouka in San Diego was always consistent with Santouka in Tokyo for many years. The salt ramen broth is no longer rich and flavorful, but kind of watery / watered down by version of the original. So disappointing! The last 2 visits in the past couple of months were consistently watery.

It can be confusing at 1st but the staff is very helpful and willing to do so! Definitely better customer service than many stores I've been to and I am an Instacart shopper so trust when I say that!

Located in Mitsuwa Market, Santouka is a lowkey underrated ramen spot. Coming from Hawaii, Santouka is also low key and one of the best as well. So I had to see if there were any changes.

I went for New Years day and got the shoyu pork ramen combo. Pork was juicy, broth very rich and maintain its hotness throughout the bowl. Noodles were nice and firm. Slurpability was a good 8/10.

To me, if you read my reviews on other apps, it's in my #2 in ramen spots in San Diego. As far as shoyu ramen it's #1. While other ramen spots around the area, you get your moneys worth and don't have to wait in line like a few right around Santouka.

Plus after you can get good Japanese grocery at the market. Now, on to the next one. Itadakimasu!

Very good ramen. Had the spicy miso a La carte. Combo was sold out near closing so expected. Now takes Apple Pay! Recommend.

It has a nice selection of ramen. It has a limited menu but I feel it's sufficient if you're a ramen fan. It's inside the supermarket so it's a perfect location for a meal after groceries.
