Holiday Inn Express Mira Mesa-San Diego

Clean and comfortable room with basic features. Check in was easy and the breakfast was plentiful. Very friendly staff. Price is high but location is good for visiting the Mira Mesa area. Limited parking. Gym is clean and has 3 treadmills plus a bike and weights.

The beds were absolutely the Highlight as they were extremely comfortable, this hotel was fine nothing really stood out above and beyond seems like it was pretty understaffed internet was out for a few hours the first day. Seating for the breakfast is also extremely Limited.

The check-in was OK. We checked in at 3 pm and the check said in a surprised voice that it's a good thing we prefer first floors because it was the only one ready. When we got to the room on the first floor, it had an awful smell. When we opened the door to the room It was like a combination of cleaner and mold.we were hoping that it would dissipate over the next few days, but it didn't. There were so many stains on the carpet that it really didn't feel comfortable. Our room had a view of the parking lot. The freezer was without a door and needed a defrosting as a result. The bathroom had a shower only, with two towels. The $250 + price didn't include parking. Parking was an additional $10 per night. That was another issue. Parking was completely full except for a parking lot that they share with another hotel. I had to walk back a long way in order to get to my room, because every single spot was filled up.so if you pay for parking, you don't get a designated spot and can end up without any parking at all. The pool was next to the hotel.it was full of about a dozen workman most of the day who were sitting and eating snacks and drinking beer. The workout room was very nice and not crowded. We tried to use the laundry room, but it was always full. There was one washer, coin, operated, and one dryer that was working for the entire hotel. The other dryer had a sign that it was out of order. The breakfast food was ok, but nothing special. You must make your own pancake.

There was really no place to walk and was next to a busy road. Denny's was walkable, but that was all. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.

I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional customer service Mr. Derek provided throughout my stay. His professionalism and friendliness made a significant impact on my overall experience, and I truly appreciate the extra effort he put into ensuring that guests like myself feel welcome and valued.

His attention to detail and willingness to assist guests with any inquiries or requests did not go unnoticed, and it is evident that he genuinely cares about providing the best service possible to all guests. His dedication to his role reflects positively on the hotel and the IHG brand as a whole.

The rooms were nice, you are not going to get a lot of space in San Diego. The breakfast was hot, and the woman working the kitchen had everything refilled quickly. The only issue I had was the parking, horrendous, especially when you are paying $10 a day.

This hotel honestly sucks 2.25 for the washing machine and next to no amenities if you are staying long term. I have to get a new key card every time I leave my room internet went out one night. At least Staff is very friendly

The place and rooms were clean and very nice, though they don't feel as homey as other holiday inns ive been to. The only issue I had is that there was a lot of noise (I stayed in the first floor), I would recommend asking for a room on a floor other than the first if you can.

There was only a sheer curtain covering the window, the carpet was stained, elevator floor was filthy, crumbs on the tv stand and hair in the shower.

Amy was amazing. Was about to check when realized car had flat tire. She gave back key and said you can late check out wait in room while you wait for AAA. Isabela was friendly as well as the other service desk person. I couldn't remember his name but he was friendly as well talk padres baseball with me.

The room does not feel adequately cleaned. There were empty water bottles left in the drawers when we came in, and crumbs left on top of the fridge, and stains on the carpet.

The front desk staff was nice and security was good. Only the front door was accessible by key card at night. However, for $250 a night, I would stay stay somewhere else.

The kitchen attendant Isabel and the lovely housekeeping staff were outstanding. Breakfast was delicious. The front desk lady was kind, welcoming, and helpful, I wish I had remembered her name. The tall slow speaking gentleman at the front desk needs additional training on hospitality and customer service. Every time I went to the counter, he was off to the side playing video games on his phone. Smh. Or it seemed he tried to give customers a hard time when there were questions or requests. He didn't seem to have a whole lot of knowledge on the front desk. The carpets need deep cleaning. The bathrooms are nice and updated. The location is great. Safe location. Right off the freeway. Plenty of lovely nearby businesses for every need. There is a gym for use. Parking can be a challenge as it's shared with another hotel next door. Ac works well.

Zero stars if I could! Worst place to stay. Don’t recommend at all. As soon as we stepped into the room with my family we notice this horrible, poison smell we left instantly out of there. My family of four felt sick and passing out after just being there and looking around to settle in, just a matter of minutes. Should have called poison control I felt light headed, lips tingling, sweaty palms, nauseous, passing out systems. There were holes in the window, with bugs crawling out of them! It’s was the worst experience ever, no manger showed up to tell them what had happened. They need better customer service workers, cleaning staff and at most a new renovation. DONT STAY HERE!

We have stayed at IHG properties numerous times but will not recommend this place. Our community Scripps Ranch has suffered a big water main break which we lost power and water for multiple days. Because they are just down the hill from us, we called and ask if they already have rooms available. The representative named Cristina confirmed that they do and she was well aware of the situation in the community. However, she was very rude, cold and curt and hanged up on us a few times after asking if they can accommodate an early check in due to the circumstances. What a way yo treat the neighborhood around you. We drive past this hotel often and have even stayed here ourselves and some of our relatives. We will never do that moving forward. What a disappointment!

Total Garbage. God forbid you have a change in plans and need to check out a day early. Straight robbery. Total garbage all the way around.

This was our second visit to this hotel inside of a year. We decided to come back based on our positive experience the first time. After spending 2 nights there again, we will definitely not be coming back. On this visit, the hotel now changes 10.00/day to park. Parking is tight as the hotel was full and lot is shared with an adjacent hotel. Front desk check in was not pleasant as my wife and I found her unfriendly and not helpful. She put us in the “quiet room” on the 4th floor, facing the freeway. The noise from the freeway was not that bad, but the vent from the bathroom did not shut off. It constantly ran the entire night. We called and waited for a plant engineer to come fix it for over 45 minutes. When he arrived, he said there is nothing he can do. The next morning, we asked for a room change and one not facing the freeway. This new room was much quieter as the vent in the bathroom was not running and there was no noise from freeway. The room was in ok condition as the fridge needed to be replaced (another service call) and a few of the items were broken like the towel hooks and bathroom door knob not functioning correctly. The pool was out of service during my stay so call ahead to check if you plan to use the pool during your stay. The only pleasant things at the hotel during my stay was interacting with the breakfast staff and night time front desk staffer, Joseph. He was helpful and accommodating. Imo, avoid this place unless you like a hotel that provides free white noise from the bathroom, broken fixtures, and not planning to use the pool.

Dirty carpet, stained bedsheets, room was not cleaned. Otherwise pretty descent two star hotel. Rundown gym.
Charged me for parking even though I said I have no vehicle!

Had issues with my 3rd party reservation showing up and the front desk staff (Ryan) was very helpful in helping me cancel and book a room directly with the hotel.

Was thankful they had a room as we arrived to our destination a day early and our booked stay next door was sold out. It was clean and comfortable. Rooms are not as big as I prefer with no kitchen and separate living space.
