Holiday Inn Express & Suites Oakland-Airport, an IHG Hotel

This Holiday Inn Express is located fairly close to Oakland International Airport. They have shuttle service from the Airport; but THERE IS A $10 CHARGE for this service.

Solid option for an Oakland stay! Good staff - friendly & accomodating. Tyrone was especially helpful and gracious. Tyrone helped me settle in and meet my needs and did so with enthusiasm and a smile.

Horrible, If I could give less than a star I would, My crew trucks we Brocken in and the reception and security accused my crew of not securing the vehicles properly, They saw through the lock bar 40 fee away from the main entrance! The security guard in on the game, I would recommend to go anywhere but here. ANY WHARE!

Needed to be near airport for a.m. Flight. Arrived tired just wanting to chill and relax. Checking-in they informed us that parking in the hotel parking lot was $20 (paid for room didnt include hotel parking) T. V. Did not work, said no content avail! I called front desk twice to no avail. Spa and gym closed at 10 pm we arrived 11pm! That was disappointing. So at that point im irritated and not relaxed.
Ice machine was broken and i would need to go to upper floor for ice. I left unrested and unable to use ANY amenities I was looking forward to and purchased. Breakfast was cleaned up by 930a.m. I wondered out to eat at 10am. Not impressed 1 nite, $180. Flexability to open up spa or get tv to work would have done wonders in review.

Wanted to write this review because I initially saw a few reviews about the staff not being so great so I was a bit worried, but upon checking in I was greeted by Derek and he was very friendly and accommodating. Derek told me everything I needed to know about the hotel and it’s amenities. Great customer service would stay here again—thank you.

Location is convenient to the airport but for the stay not really cause it is in the industrial area.

Staff at the reception is very bad

They forget they are just employees.

I will never come to this bad hotel again.

This is very late, but I figured I would still post my comments/provide a review since it was an exceptional visit for my family and I. We stayed at this hotel back in 2019 to watch a football game, when the Raiders were still at Oakland (we're definitely not Raiders fans). In addition to exchanging some "welcomed" banter (because we were the visiting team), the hotel staff were outstanding. We were really appreciative of the phenomenal shuttle service that this hotel provided (to and from the airport, stadium on game day, and to restaurants/stores within a reasonable distance). The entire establishment, to include our room, was clean and we enjoyed the breakfast - we especially were shocked how quiet it was in our room. Definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Room was great, beds and pillows comfortable, location good, food tasted good and there was a good selection, only thing was that the airport shuttle cost $10. Overall good airport hotel.

I stay at hotels 5 days a week for work and this is a decent hotel but not much better then a motel 6, the breakfast was one of the worst hotel breakfasts I’ve had, the coffee was horrible.the maid lady knocked on the door and tried to clean the room at like 830 in the morning (you really can’t wait till we check out? It’s not like your super busy there), our window was unlocked and had no screen, was also super dirty and had hand prints on the outside like someone had been trying to get in at one point. The tv is set to turn on to cnn every time like they are trying to make a political statement. The one thing I did like is they had super nice soap and shampoo to offer in the room

Iron Fence around the property with gates to get in the lot. Once you get in the parking lot There is a area that has a chain link fence with gate. This is where the employees park. CRIME is really BAD in this area. Stores are closed Abandoned vehicles everywhere. One night the rate is 200 next nite it's 400. There's better places 3 miles away to stay for less. Owner is taking advantage of the situation. Says they provide security. All I saw was a empty car with a cheesy blinky light on it. Oh they charge to park. No one told me till my 2nd night. The owner told me not to worry about it my company would pay. I am the company This guy robs you in his hotel while the public robs you outside. I stay at HIE at least twice a month this one is not like the rest. Holiday Inn needs to take there name away. Makes IHG look BAD

This hotel has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The lady working after midnight was so disrespectful they need to get rid of her ASAP. Couldn’t get the room even tho I booked online. STAY AWAY!

Night staff employee was extremely helpful and gave us great service when we checked in. Daytime general manager showed up in the morning and tried to tell us we were parked in the wrong place and charge us some kind of fee. He was being really shady, it seemed suspicious like he wanted us to get robbed? Maybe all the parking lot theft and car break-ins have something to do with his policies. Definitely could be letting crime slide for a little payoff from the criminals. Night employees deserves a raise and better management!

Update: the reply given here from the hotel has ignored my issue, which was not with the general safety concerns, but with the way that hotel management (not the staff providing the service) handled the situation. Management appears even more suspicious in this reply, making it clear that they 1) do not actually listen to or understand the needs of their customers, and 2) probably have their hands dirty with some involvement in the crimes occuring on their property.

We stayed one night on 4/27/23 to catch an early flight. The shuttle was $10 per person but was easy to arrange both from the rental car area and back to the airport. Very prompt!
Rooms were very clean. Ria at the front desk was very friendly and efficient and helped me retrieve my purse which I had left in the shuttle bus. Excellent place to stay!

Stayed there a night to attend an A;s baseball game. Truck was broken into during the night in the parking lot.

Night staff very rude morning staff was much nicer the only great thing it was around the corner from the Oakland Airport
