Holly Street Village Apartments, Pasadena CA

The management staff are incredible - very helpful and professional. I’ve lived in a few large apartment communities and they were easily the best staff to work with.
Every time I submitted a maintenance request, someone was there the same day to fix it, no matter how small the issue. Their maintenance people are clearly competent and aim to please.
Location is wonderful - walking distance of everything in old town, right by the metro, etc. Honestly can’t ask for better.
Why the four-star rating? There are a few things not obvious when you tour that became pretty annoying pretty quickly.
1) No recycling on premises. I understand that tenants in the past were using recycling bins for their trash, so the decision by management is understandable. However, if you want to do the right thing and recycle, the closest place to do so is a transfer station 20-25 minutes away by car in Glendale.
2) There really wasn’t much overhead lighting in our unit. Other than in the bathrooms, kitchen, and dining nook, unless you bought a bunch of floor lamps, it was really dark at night.
3) The lofts are attractive, but also around 10-15° warmer than the rest of the apartment, especially in the summer, regardless of air conditioning.
4) Even if you get a decently-sized apartment, the built-in storage is close to nonexistent.
5) The kitchens are really tiny - definitely hard for two people to cook in there together - and very difficult to keep clean. Definitely not the worst I’ve seen, but would really only recommend for someone who mostly eats takeout.

This is a wonderful place in the perfect location! The office staff takes excellent care of residents and the maintenance team is so professional and skilled. The property is right by the metro train and the heart of Old Town Pasadena is only steps away. If you are looking for a clean place with spacious apartments and kind employees then this is the place!

My husband and I love this community. It is in the middle of Old Town Pasadena and EVERYTHING is within walking distance! We can jump on the Metro train and spend the day at Olvera Street and zip right back to Pasadena with no traffic or driving needed. The staff is wonderful and they take the time to get to know their residents. I love that the property has citrus trees where we can pick fresh lemons. There is a park right next door with exercise equipment and there is also a gym in the community. It’s a wonderful place!

I had a great experience with the manager when we stopped in on our way to explore. Pria was so helpful and sweet as my brother is new to the are and we had no clue where to go eat! She gave us so many good recommendations, i now have countless reasons to come visit!

I think people that leave bad reviews come here get stressed that finding an appartment isn't as easy as they thought, and blame it on management. Finding an apartment isn't easy, I agree, but Rachel is the kindest, most caring, on top of things person I have ever met - she is extremely informative, and I've seen her interact with all the residents in a way that makes them feel like you are at home. If you ever have a problem just let her know, she truly cares about the property and its residents. Thank you Rachel for working at Holly Street!

They were very pleasant when I spoke to them on the phone. And when my current lease is up i look forward to working with them!

I would give the apartments themselves four stars, but the person I worked with zero. Rachel, the leasing manager, was dismissive, slightly argumentative and honestly rude. I told her I was looking for an apartment for my daughter and that I would co-sign and help with payments while my daughter is in school, but none of that seemed to matter. Several different times Rachel told me how expensive her apartments were and that in the summer prices usually go down, so maybe I should check back then. She showed me 2 different apartments after I basically had to beg to get her to show me any.
I wasn’t going to leave any kind of a review but after going to Amli, right down the street from The Holly Street Apartments, I was blown away by how kind and helpful the staff was. It made me realize how poorly I was treated at The Holly Street Apartments. If you’re looking for a good place to move with a good staff stay away from these apartments or maybe just stay away from Rachel.

I do not recommend this place I live next door and cockroaches from these apartments come into my apartment. I have my apartment sprayed at least every two months because of Holly apartments! I’ve also called the managers many times for them to move where they put their trash bins which is in front of the apartment building next to theirs. It’s absolutely absurd that they do not listen to their neighbors requests and that they do not use their space in front of THEIR very big apartment complex for trash pickup! These apartments are DIRTY and the people that live there are obnoxious and loud and yell on the streets.

Dontrell was so helpful in the apartment hunting process, making Holly Street Village an obvious choice. He informed me of options other communities had not which ended up saving me money in the long run. He was extremely friendly and helpful. Thanks so much for all of your assistance Dontrell!

Renewing my lease this month! Nothing bad to say about my complex at all, most importantly, the maintenance team is super quick and responsive my issues are fixed within 24 hours. If you are looking to live here I definitely recommend!

Me and my husband stopped by at Holly Street Village Apartments couple weeks ago and wanted to check out some apartments. It was 2 ladies in the office who was not busy at all. They told me that they do tours by appointment only and ONLY after online tour. We understood that and asked them at least for prices, she told us: everything by phone. Was it that hard to tell us some numbers? !

Then I left all my information and lady told me that she would call me to schedule a appointment for online tour. NO ONE called me. Then I also left a request online and no one contacted me either.

If they do not care about future residents, how do they treat current ones?

Ive lived here many years (3+) and have an older unit that originally had some issues I came across due to its age. However Rudy and Marlon have never ceased to amaze me with how quick and efficient they work and respond to my many maintenance requests, they even got me a new dishwasher. Management has always been super helpful

Great complex, but the big reason for the 5 star is Marlon! He's one of the best facility workers I've met. He's very responsive, works fast and always has a smile on. We need more people like him!

Great service from maintenance department. Rudy fixed some major plumbing issues no problem!

We moved in a few months ago. We love the location and how gorgeous and well kept the property is. A couple of days ago we had a mejor drainage problem, I was surprised how promptly the maintenance team took care of this issue. Gustavo took care of our personal belongings and made sure everything was cleaned and disinfected afterwards. We never had anybody take care of a situation like this the way Gustavo did in any other apartment we rented in the past. We will definitely renew our lease contract with Holly Street Village Apartments.

Thank you RUDY! Our kitchen sink and bathroom sink were both backed up on a Saturday afternoon. We called for maintenance and Rudy came very quickly and provided a quick fix. So kind, helpful and did great work!

First of all, I decided to move to Holly Apartments all because of Rachel. Rachel has been so helpful and knowledgeable in my process of moving to Holly Apartments. I'm extremely thrilled with my move here and everything has been steady and easy! Rachel is friendly, understanding, and quick when I have any questions or need anything at all. I love the staff here and the location is unbeatable! Walking around is safe and there is so much to see, do, and eat here! I'm happy about my decision and glad I chose this place.
