Hollywood Burbank Airport (Bob Hope)

It's easier to get in and out of than LAX, but still a zoo and run down. It took 30 minutes to get my luggage despite having priority bags. Insufficient seating in boarding areas. Staff were not very friendly and seemed stressed, but again, it was better than LAX for sure.

5 stars for efficiency. It saves me an average 1.5 hr each way compared to flying into and out of LAX because it is a very small airport. No need to sit in traffic for 20 minutes in a bus shuttle to go to the car rental place because it is on site (10 minute walk). No airport lounges or other fancy shops like LAX but I prefer to spend the extra 1.5 hrs in the beach than going to the airport early. I can give myself 30 minutes before boarding and it always works well.

Only wish is to please upgrade your airport. It is dated. It has lots of potential to be world class.

Here is more convenient than LAX. I highly suggest here to family and friends to avoid traffic jam at LAX airport.

I sing nothing but high praises to two fundamental employees of Southwest Airlines (Burbank Airport), Amal and Shatire. I was in an unavoidable situation where I had to change plans and stay overnight at the location of my connecting flight. I had never experienced that before, so they took their time to thoroughly explain to me what my options were and how to go about them. Their knowledge and compassion allowed me to feel more at ease during this stressful situation. I cannot thank them enough for the patience they displayed and for taking care of me as well as they did. I may just be one of the many faces they see everyday, but I’ll never forget them.

Very small local airport that has all the benefits of being small and also the detriment of being old and growing rapidly.

Waited at baggage claim for over 30 minutes without one person letting us know what was going on. Staff didn’t seem to have any clue what was going on and still don’t. I would rather fly into LAX and sit in a cab instead of deal with this infuriation that comes along with this.

The airport does not have free WiFi. They suggest they have WiFi with signs throughout the airport but no passengers and no devices can access it.

Sent my daughter to see about getting a bite to eat while waiting to board flight. A few minutes later she returned with a below average salami sub sandwich with a type of pureed tomato, no mayo, no pickle, just a dry white roll, couple small thin salami slices, and some white cheese and a 16 oz bottle of no name water. $31.66.

No kidding.

Ok, i guess it must've cost a bundle in new signage to remove evildoer Bob Hope from appearing in and around the iconic, mid century Burbank airfield.

I decided to pass on a small gift i had spotted before "lunch" after an airport cashier with a huge stainless steel "tips for the community" magnum facing front and center gave me a final cost of $52 (which incld.sales tax) for a basic baseball cap that had LA stamped on the front.

I guess the business strategy at
No Hope Airport is:
soak the unsuspecting traveler. Because nobody seemed to be buying from any of the contract establishments, save for the bars.

Over the years, Burbank has been a great alternative to LAX, which for me is relatively an easy commute from Santa Barbara-an hour or so down Hwy 101 to the 134 E. I'll continue using the San Fernando Valley area Airport, but most likely will pack a snack, or stop along Ventura Blvd beforehand for a real deli lunch

TSA is kinda disorganized, but if you can fly outta or into Burbank, it’s not a terrible experience.

Incredibly cramped, overpriced and smelly. Nothing is open before AM flights depart. Terrible food options with ridiculous prices, even for an airport. Car rental staff is friendly at Avis. Worst airport in the LA area, although I haven't flown into SMX or SBA. Fly elsewhere.

Had to wait an extra half hour on the plane before taking off. I guess they forgot that planes land and also fly away? Fine place to land, not so good when leaving.

Great airport to fly out for me as I'm 8 mins away from the airport. I travel every other week, so that is convenient and efficient. It is a relatively easy security experience but can get congested depending on time and season, but never close to what you experience at LAX all the time.

Quick, easy, convenient airport. Better than dealing with major airport with 200 gates, like a next alternative Airport near the coast.

It was entirely serviceable, if a bit dated. The terminals didn't have enough seating space when it was busy on our way out of town for the amount of people waiting, and it was a bit cramped, but it does at least have a couple restaurants and a shop.

Car rentals are a pretty long walk from the terminal, and a few of the moving sidewalks were out of service when we went. Then again, it did give us a nice photo op and some great views of the surrounding mountains.

Tremendous alternative to LAX. All the big airlines are here - American, Delta, United, JetBlue, Alaska, Southwest, Spirit. Convenient, close, affordable, best describe BUR.

The Baggage Claim area is unacceptable. The flow of vehicle arrivals is unacceptable. BUR does have superior check-in kiosks, which group every airline into the one kiosk- very nifty. But the whole airport needs to be upgraded. Improving this airport may be good use of local tax dollar allocation.

Love flying in and out of this airport! So easy to get to with some great parking options!

Best airport ever. Easy to park.walk in. Easy security and you are at your gate. Buy food coffee and drinks easily. Small and convenient. No shuttles to other parts of the airport. Pick this over LAX every time.
