Holtville Taco Shop

I have been eating here since Jim Birger opened it as a Mexican restaurant. Good burgers and onion rings, and tasty Mexican food. Love the special quesadillas.

My wife and I love Mexican Restaurants and have eaten in hundreds in our 36 years together. Not fancy at all but clean, well run, EXCELLENT FOOD. The soup was best my wife ever had.

It's a local taco shop in a farm town, so it's not a dress up in tux kinda place. That being said, MAN THATS GOOD FOOD. Enchilada's AWESOME! Best enchilada's I've EVER HAD! Tacos delish and they do have option for flour tortillas on the taco's! I Love that.

Food was good and hot chicken was a little crunchy but good lot's of food for your money customer service is good not to busy for a taco shop.
Good place for Truckers when in the area

This is exactly what I want out of a taco shop. Tasty California burritos and cups of soda so large the "medium" is a bucket.

Best food spot in this area. Fish tacos inexpensive authentic and tasty. Breakfast as well also drink from self served fountains of refreshments. Customer service is excellent. Ladies don't talk much and gets your orders right. Clean looking and smelling atmosphere. DON'T HESITATE TO STOP IN AND EAT.

My first experience.
Ordered 2 shredded beef tacos and 1 fish taco.
THE GOOD.
1. OMG! The flavor of whatever fish they use is EXCEPTIONAL.
2. Fish was cooked perfectly! Crispy and no grease!
3. The fillings in the fish taco.cabbage and pico de gallo and tartar sauce were ALL EXCELLENT!
4. The price of the beef tacos
5. The flour tortillas used on the beef tacos were crispy.super duper taste and texture

THE BAD.
1. At $3.50 I feel it is an expensive fish taco.
2. Beef tacos could use more seasoning.
3. After just one fish taco I know I am hooked and will be spending a lot of money there!

I have been looking and waiting for a mind blowing fish taco. Had kinda given up.disappointed. I FINALLY FOUND IT HERE!
I can't do it justice on here. It was simply mind blowing in the perfect blend of all the parts that make up this taco. I could't believe it tasted sooooo good as I was eating it. All I wanted to do was go back and eat a whole bunch more. The taste remained in my mouth a long time after eating it.and I was glad!
It is such an un-assuming looking little place.in a very small town. I did not expect to find the best fish taco. BY FAR.here. So glad I did though!

Food was good and the lady at the counter was very nice. I haven't been to Holtville in years but a friend invited me to go eat there and if I would ever be in the area I would stop in again.

The Quesadillas are so good even the chicken nuggets and the French fries are highly recommended it there and the cookies and brownies are so delicious. You're always more than welcome to get refills for drinks. The cashiers are very nice.

You ever get some food, and you just shut up and eat? That's what this place will do to you! Literally mouth watering and super filling! The burritos are HUGE! I got the California burrito and my brother got the Veggie Burrito, and we're picky eaters but with this place, NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL! So good I didn't even have a chance to take a pic of this monster burrito lol

Great food, great bang for your buck, and good staff. Some might prefer a different salsa, but I enjoyed. Huuuuge medium soda cups! What else do you need?
