I have cracks in our new home stucco and our builder denying the issue. Matt provided a valuable information and process to get it fixed. I really appreciated his time and his information. Give him a call if you have any issues with your stucco!

The supposed LEAK specialist did nothing but up sale every aspect of my job. I needed a small stucco repair for a door removed on the side of a garage. Was told the entire new frame for ONE small door would need to be removed and concrete poured for a stem wall and the plywood was non compliant because the rest of the house wasn’t the same. The house was built in 1946. Where exactly do I get 1946 plywood? Guess MATT, didn’t know I was a contractor and basically tried to pad the bill about everything. Was told unless I did it HIS way it would absolutely leak. BS! Sad that this company could pray on women or those without construction knowledge and over sell jobs for thousands more than they should cost. I found an old school professional the same day on Craigs List. He saw no issues with the repair and started immediately. I have seen similar repairs done on projects without the need to rebuild the home! Sure their work is just fine, but be prepared to pay FAR more than you should!

My house has had several problems with defective stucco. Each time HomePro was able to fix the problem. They are not the cheapest option out there and their schedule may require you to wait a few weeks for them to start, but I believe the results are worth it.

A few years ago we hired a contractor to install a sliding glass patio door. The door replacement required removal of the surrounding stucco and the door installer didn’t handle stucco repair, so we also hired a stucco contractor. Over 18 months later, we began to notice that the interior wood trim above the new door showed signs of warping and peeling. We removed the trim and discovered signs of water damage to the drywall and wood. We left the trim off the door and we were able to witness water entering the cavity above the door during the next storm. Additionally, we witnessed leaking between the actual door panels. We contacted the original installer who attempted some basic water testing, but couldn’t reproduce the leak and they suggested the stucco was not properly installed. They also suggested contacting the door manufacturer about the leak between the panels. We called the door manufacturer and over the phone they told us they wouldn’t address the panel leak because they believed that the door was not installed properly, even though the door installer was apparently “licensed/certified” by the manufacturer. Long story short, we were stuck between the door contractor, the door manufacturer, and the stucco installer. With each new storm, the door would leak, sometimes significantly.

We finally decided to call HomePro. Matt with HomePro was very knowledgeable, quick to respond to my calls, and most importantly, he did door installation, stucco repair, and water testing. He put me on a list to have our door replaced and wall fixed. It took a few months before he was available, but once work started his team was polite, professional, and very open to me watching the entire process. After the door was installed, they performed leak testing, replaced the stucco, and painted the exterior wall. Anytime I had concerns during the installation, Matt responded quickly even on weekends. They completed the installation just before the big December 2022 and January 2023 storms hit the Sacramento area. I decided to replace the interior trim myself, so the trim was still uninstalled during the storms so I could see inside the area around the door. Even with 50mph wind gusts and record rainfall, there was no evidence of the leak.

One more minor note, the original leaky door was of a popular, somewhat upscale brand. While the customer service at this door manufacturer was polite, they weren’t very helpful when it came to any issues we had with the original door. For the leak repair, HomePro installed an Anlin brand door. After the install, we noticed that the door had a small defect. Matt contacted Anlin, and Anlin reached out to us within a few days. Not only did Anlin get someone out as soon as they had the replacement part, they inspected the entire door for other issues and even replaced our door handle which had a very small cosmetic defect, all free of charge. So Anlin also gets an A+ rating for customer service.

When things go wrong and multiple parties are involved, it’s hard to know who is responsible. HomePro does all the work, and Anlin appears to stand behind their doors. We already have other repair work we need to do. When we feel like the timing is right, we plan on using Matt and HomePro again.

I wish I could have more to go off of, but the gentlemen that returned my call continuously cut me off mid sentence, made assumptions on my project with little to no detail, mansplained what needed to be done as if I had no background on my own project, then told me they were booked up till July anyways. Not sure if his conduct was due to me being a female or what but he should consider allowing the potential customer to finish a sentence before plowing through the conversation. Unprofessional and rude, would not recommend. And yes I ended the conversation letting him know my sentiment so this should not come as a blindside.

Our trusted handyman admitted he was not prepared to address a persistent leak from underneath our patio cover. We called the company that installed it, but they were out of business. After searching for a reliable company to troubleshoot, estimate and fix a troublesome leak between our French door and the patio cover, we found HomePro and we are so happy that we found them! Matt provided us with a probable reason for the leak and initial thoughts on how to correct it. His team followed up with an onsite review and written estimate. Matt explained the process to fix the leak very well. Most impressive is HomePro’s focus on setting expectations – we understood that the initial estimate may be low if the water damage was more extensive. Throughout the process, HomePro kept us up to date. HomePro removed the patio cover, stucco and French door. The team showed us the existing damage and reason for the leak. Then the team got to work fixing the problems. HomePro was able to complete the work well within the time frame they had scheduled. We asked them to fix some other dry rot, and they were able to knock that out quickly.

The only challenging thing about working with HomePro is that they are so good – they are also so busy – we had to wait nearly 6 months, but it was worth the wait. The HomePro team was detail-oriented, professional and very polite. If we have any leaks anywhere else, we will be sure to call HomePro.
