This Mountain has a DREADFUL policy of not refunding or transferring tickets due to weather. My family and I attempted to visit on MLK weekend, which happened to fall on a record, road-blocking snow storm. We couldn't access the mountain and several lifts were closed, but Homewood REFUSED to refund or transfer our tickets. SUCH POOR SERVICE! Do not book here unless you 1) enjoy lost money or 2) have special weather-controlling powers. A must for all occasions, apparently:)

PRO: Best if trees are your thing and low/no crowd.
CON: Limited/paid parking.
RECOMMENDATION: Recommended if you abhor crowds, if you like the local feel and love trees.

I cannot say enough great things about this resort. As first time ski/snow boarders we didn’t know what to expect. We signed up for group lessons and their instructors were top notch. They had us all independent after a lesson and we were able to progress from there. Their prices are affordable, gear rental is good quality, and the location is wonderful. It’s not as busy as the other resorts and their hospitality is awesome. Very family friendly as well as adult friendly… (two bars on premises). We were with other experienced skiers and snow boarders and they enjoyed their advanced trails. Shout out to our instructors Lou, Tim, and Jose. We wouldn’t have had a great time without you all. The view from the resort is unmatched. 10/10 will be back.

We went as a group of four booking their “first time skier” lesson for $89. This seemed like a great value except it only includes boots and skis - no helmet or goggles which is essential in the winter especially for beginners. They state you can just buy them at their shop - don’t do that! Go to Tahoe Dave’s and rent for 1/4 of the price. Our instructor was Lou and he basically worked on up-selling us the entire time to go on the big chair lift for the views. He also was condescending several times rather than changing the way he was teaching to be helpful. The large issue, however, is even though you have to pay for the lift cards in the beginner package, you don’t actually get access to the chair lift unless you upgrade for $79. It seemed a little shady of them to leave out those details and several of the employees didn’t even know accurate pricing to give us. It was fun to try for the first time, but definitely not the best value like we thought.

The manager in the area of renting did not help us at all. It was rude and disrespectful. We lost 2 hours a day because of him in not helping. Worst customer service!

Super fun resort! Staff is very friendly and slopes are maintained well. And THE VIEW! Great place for all ages as the mountain offers trails for all difficulties. Quail face is still my favorite double black to run.

Homewood is like the sweet spot of ski resorts. Laid back, not crowded, trails for every skier level, low prices, and maybe the best view of Lake Tahoe in the area. The only criticism is that the Big Blue lookout bar should have more food options for lunch (they only had burritos) but the view of the lake from sitting outside was so amazing.

I have been skiing here since it was two resorts.more than 40 years now! Everyone thinks it's kind of a small resort Intermediate at best, I say you don't know where you're going but keep thinking that and stay away.

This place has a real down to earth family atmosphere with the most amazing views of Lake Tahoe. The green homeward bound run has a real adventure in the forests feel. I also have to say that the rice bowl lunch I had was delicious.

We love this place and it's so much more accessible for skiing and boarding. No long lines for lifts, less crowding than the larger resorts and pretty effortless to get into to. Greatest place in Tahoe for families and kids.

Beautiful mountains and views, but the infrastructure leaves much to be desired. Most chairs don't have a safety bar, not speaking about ski- holding bar or heated seating. They are so slow, too! Given this, the price of tickets is excessive. I hope the owners are seriously considering investments and upgrades. The current state is unacceptable, we've seen ski resorts in developing countries that are better equipped.

I’m a member of the military. I actually don't feel deserving of special treatment because of it, but Homewood Resort’s website says they permit a number of free passes for military members per day (except Saturdays & peak days). I appreciate these gestures: for me -as a no special individual, but even more for those who can no longer be here. It is Tuesday today & it is in spring condition. The parking lot has so few vehicles that I wasn’t sure if they were open for today. There is barely anyone out here (almost bereft of customers), and there is just a little over an hour left before they close this afternoon. I drove all the way up this mountain from hours away. The ticket-lady denied me a military pass to ski for an hour, while the ski lifts ran round & round with scarcely anyone getting on them. She suggested I pay for a regularly priced lift ticket because they have already issued enough military passes for the day. She turned me away, telling me to purchase the ticket or just drive back another time. That is the same thing as going out of her way to make the point of telling me to never come back. Just before leaving, two of their employees said, “Thank you for your service. ” That’s the? Spirit!

Had a blast! Lessons for the kids were great and we had a great time too, despite having very different skill levels. Homewood is awesome!

Had a blast here last Thursday. Thanks to Covid no lines at the lifts all day! Great variety of runs for a small resort and you can't beat the views.

My family of four went to Homewood three times this season. Two of three times we were treated rudely by the parking attendant just for asking where to park and falling when getting off the ski lift. We tried it again after the first event but, we will not be returning to Homewood after it happened again. Ski lift operators should be sensitive to children getting off the ski lift.

We had a really good experience today, good snow, good weather, very few people, and we loved the runs. There are great green and blue runs with spectacular views from top to bottom. I broke a binding at noon but was able to rent replacement skis within 10 minutes. It really saved our day. Thank you! -Auntie Finch
