Hong Kong Clay Pot Restaurant reviews
32Had shrimp clay pot, Kung Pao chicken, BBQ fried rice, and dumplings. Everything was delicious!
So good.we ate here twice while vacationing in SFO! Every dish we got was my favorite! We ordered the wontons, salt & pepper chicken, honey walnut prawns and pork fried rice. The sauce on the prawns was tasty where I couldn't stop eating the dish even after I was full! The S&P chicken was simple and perfectly crispy- absolutely loved every bite. Also the price point was reasonable and affordable for San Fran.
I liked the food a lot. The noodles were so good and the pork was delicious. The staff were great.
Do not place online orders here!
The website accepts orders, so I placed one. I drove to the restaurant excited for dinner, spend 15 min finding parking, get to the restaurant and find out they aren’t “doing” online orders tonight even though their website accepted my order and gave me an estimated time my food would be ready. Absolutely ridiculous.
The environment here is outstanding, it truly feels like an authentic chinese restaurant. The honey walnut shrimp was fantastic, filled with flavor and sweetness. Even the walnuts were roasted and sauced well. The chicken curry clay pot was easy to eat and share. The chicken was cooked soft and the broth had a nice flavor to it. The food comes out quickly but with care.
Fast and friendly service, good ingredients. Too salty for my family. Ask for less salt and oil on your greens!
Not so many restaurant offer dine in at this time due to the pandemic restrictions. They are the only few restaurants that offer indoor seating. Food was delicious! Service was quick and friendly. Also price is good. Highly recommend!
Best wings ever. Always a huge line so be prepared to wait or order for takeout. Black bean noodles are great, too.
Some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. We ordered the dinner specials on the back of the menu. The food just kept coming and the portions were wonderfully big. The shrimp used in the dishes were nice sized shrimp, and its a meal I'll never forget. Definitely worth checking out in Chinatown.
Great food.really great prices.i have celiac
disease and they went out of their way to make sure i got plenty of wheat free choices!
9/9my family and I are from miami visiting san Francisco.
My father in law really wanted to eat in Chinatown.
I looked up the best review and came across this one.
While we were nervous at first since the location was empty the food came out quick and it was very tasty. As we enjoyed our food the restaurant filled with up clients I guess we were just early.
I would highly recommend
I ordered the chicken and tofu clay pot. All tofu no chicken. I ordered the spicy jellyfish bad flavor. I informed the waitress and said I'd order pot stickers instead and still pay for the jellyfish.she started SCREAMING AT ME. Everyone in the restaurant was looking. My friends sesame chicken was too sweet and she got an upset stomach.
After exploring Chinatown for a good part of the day, we decide to eat here for lunch. It is upstairs a building, and everything was just as I expected! There are many options to choose from, but I remember ordering the Asian wings and some seafood noodles. The wings were great, but the noodles could have used more flavoring and texture. Anyways, the service was average as well, but I still had a good experience here!
We went to this restaurant to try their clay pot dishes hoping to experience some authentic clay pot dishes which are delicious. It was a total disappointment! We ordered a beed clay pot and a lamb clay pot and they both had more fat pieces, skin and bone than meat on them. It was ridiculous. Service is slow and no smiles whatsoever. It is the first place we ate in sam francisco that we felt disappointment about the food we ate.
I am from Houston. We have Bellaire, our China Town, in Houston that I have frequented for 20 years and this food is at best meh. The service is decent, but it can get packed. The food is very low par brown sauce hot pot dish and all the food comes out suspiciously too fast. The spring rolls are good. The brocollis with garlic is good. They offer tea already out on the table that is good. The fortune cookie is good).
Don't expect service though the staff hustles. Good authentic Chinese food and very reasonably price (given that it is after all San Francisco.) Very popular expect a wait. You'll be packed in like sardines (not on menu). Part of the mystique I suppose.
Hole in the wall restaurant with limited seating and staff who don't speak English that well. This often means the food is more authentic. My pot was served so hot that I burned my tongue.
This place changed my kids from whining about eating in Chinatown and begging for Subway to asking to come back and have dinner repeatedly for the entire time we were in the Bay area. We sampled a bunch of dishes and everything was great.
Considerate staff on two points - dietary challenges and staying a little longer than official closing hours (post-lunch). The food was basic comfort style cuisine but appetizing enough for us to wipe our plates clean.
Difficult to find a parking spot but that did not detract our experience.
Everything was wonderful. Food was great, excellent service, nice atmosphere. Would definitely go back!
