Hong Kong Garden reviews
14Unfortunately we didn't like it. The noodles were mushy and the chicken had an odd texture. If you like it, the portion was large and it was cheap.
The owners are really sweet and will chat you up for a bit, which I enjoy. They gave me egg drop soup while I waited, which was kind. The food is phenomenal and consistent. I get the dimsum every time. I love it
The staff/cooks here are the absolute best. They are so caring and attentive. And service is so quick. The food is always perfect. Really large portions for a great price!
I love Hong Kong Garden. I lived in Hong Kong as a kid and I grew up eating Chinese food. While this is typical American Chinese food, it’s very good and the best in town. I highly recommend!
This place has great food the potstckers are to die for. We drive an hour just for them sometimes
Ordered lunch for 2 8 year olds to split sesame chicken with chow mein but charged for dinner size dishes which couldn't be resolved. Won't comeback or recommend.
I had the chicken chop suey. And it was the best I've had in years. Can't find authentic alot.
Home of the best Won Ton soup in my opinion. Very down home Chinese atmosphere. Crab puffs are the bomb too.
Disturbing when I placed to small to go order, then they told me I can't pay with card unless it's over 20$$, I was appalled, I told them I'll pay extra for the fee using my card, the said you can walk to bank, never before have I encountered such a situation, I understand its hard for small businesses, but it's very inconvient and unprofessional to not except debt card unless over 20$ (possible tax evasion
Consensus between 4 of us tonight give this restaurant a 2.5 stars. Was the first time eating here. Take out, Orange Chx, General Chx, Sweet and Sour Chx, and Egg Drop Soup. The broccoli was awful. The Chx dishes were not very good at all. Tasteless. Thought it was an overall total disappointment. Glad I won’t be back to Sonora for Chinese food. Thought there was a huge Asian population here. Find ones that can cook, not heat up frozen food.
This is my favorite Asian cuisine restaurant to go to out of any other place that I have been to. The food here is outstanding. The restaurant owners are very kind people, the service is great, and the atmosphere is simply relaxing and delightful. If you are looking for a relaxing place to eat incredible food with good service, this is definitely a place to go. And if you love Asian cuisine, then I recommend this even more. Everything they have here tastes good. Also, as someone who doesn't care for pot stickers, it is one of the best things on their menu. Their pan fried potstickers are top notch.
Definitely real and authentic which is always a plus! The bought they could use a lot more flavor. Could be the fact I received no soy or sweet and sour both times indoor dashed it but very bland. Had to add salt and hot sauce to spice to what was thick water tasting. Oh the chow mein noodles were so good, taste like yhey make them in house. (Not positive if they do)
Other note/ I am speaking on the vegetarian dishes only.
As I sit here in the booth, digesting and watching my family eat I decided I'd do the review while it's fresh in my head and my stomach.
Honk Kong Garden was delicious! Staff was friendly and prompt. The decor was interesting with a clash of traditional Chinese atmosphere and then BAm! Moose and Elk head mounted on the wall, but because we live in the mountains it's fitting.
Traditional Chinese food of course but still great tasting.
Today's dinner consisted of special fried rice, fried chicken wings, combination appetizer, pork and custard buns, sweet and sour pork, siomai, and beef wonton.
Special fried rice had plenty of shrimp and the vegetables were fresh, not too oily.
Fried chicken was great and crispy and not oily.
The sweet n sour pork had a great glaze that wasn't overpowering the meat.
The buns and siomai were steamed, fresh, soft and plenty of filling.
The beef wonton came in a large bowl with plenty of the wonton and a good amount of bok choy and beef strips.
They even included a small bowl of egg flower soup and was great to start.
The combination appetizer has serving of 3, pot stickers, egg roll and prawns. Everything crispy as it should, the pot stickers were excellent and tasted fresh.
Overall very happy and will return again! Keep up the quality!
Worst Chinese in town. No flavor, tastes old. No orange sauce on orange chicken. Hot & sour soup has the consistency of black tar and tastes like it too. Mongolian beef looked and tasted like it had been fished out of the dumpster after being tossed 3 days before. Fairly positive the sweet and sour pork was really Rat. Anyone who rates this place high has obviously never eaten Chinese food before. I find it baffling there is not one decent restaurant in Sonora. Microwaving frozen meals is not cooking.
